🌟Kourtney is a Senior Cyber Security Program Owner at Amazon Web Services, bringing over a decade of experience in designing and implementing security solutions for leading organizations including Amazon, Fannie Mae InfoSec, and the Department of Defense. As a global technical advisor on security, privacy, and data protection, she has consistently raised the security bar and prevented breaches through innovative controls and solutions.
🌟In addition to her role at AWS, Kourtney has served on various boards, including the Board of Directors for Amazon’s Black Employee Network (BEN-DMV), where she leads as Director of Events, curating experiences that celebrate and amplify the contributions of Black professionals within Amazon and the broader Black tech community across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. Her expertise has allowed her to provide key insights and leadership across several organizations.
🌟Kourtney is also the founder of
@thechictechfirm LLC, a career consulting practice dedicated to helping professionals pivot into cybersecurity and empower women to thrive in tech. As a mentor and IT Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) graduate, she has created numerous impactful tech events and industry panels, including DC’s first Big Tech Black Tech Gala, Black in Tech Field Day, and previously designed and lead the Amazon’s experience at multiple conference including
@afro.tech and
@baddiesintech . A true connector in the DC area, she designs spaces where Black tech professionals can gain industry insights and find community.
🌟With a non-traditional journey into cybersecurity, holding a Bachelor’s in Business and an MBA in Business Management, Kourtney’s path inspires others to consider careers in tech. Her commitment to driving change is evident in her work empowering underrepresented groups to succeed in the field.
