If you know me well enough, you’d know I’ve never been great with numbers. For most of my life, I’ve quietly avoided anything that would put me too close to them. And yet, here I am. In a little over a year, I’ve found myself telling stories filled with numbers and creating narrative frameworks for what I’m proud to call Nigeria’s premier financially inclusive ecosystem. Leading this work at @basgroupng hasn’t suddenly made me a numbers person, but it’s shown me how to use my gift for storytelling to help translate them in ways that connect. A few recognitions later for what we’re building, and I’m just really grateful. Grateful for finding the courage to do it afraid. Grateful to be doing it with God. Sometimes the path finds you in the places you least expected.

Still basking in the magic of Echoes of the Now, the fashion showcase @thehoznetwork had the honour of curating for Lagos Canvas, in collaboration with the incredible @moabudu and the @mayorofldn . Curating a runway that reimagined contemporary Nigerian elegance was no small feat, but it was so worth it. From concept to closing walk, every moment was a reminder of why we do this to honour the now while holding space for what’s next. Endless gratitude to the ones who added soul to the process: Rantimi — you brought the mood and the magic. Henriiiiiii — this outfit? A quiet riot of beauty. Stephanie — thank you for nudging me to speak during the show (your instincts are golden). Ms Mo — your trust in my vision means the world. Somi — thank you for making Lagos feel like ease for 72 hours. Here’s to curating, storytelling, and echoing the voices of our present.🥂

Every moment that lights up the runway starts long before the first spotlight comes on. For Lagos Canvas, we spent weeks behind the scenes at @thehoznetwork — dreaming, curating, and crafting every single detail. Choosing designers like Emmy Kasbit, Cynthia Abila, Kadiju, JZO to mention a few wasn’t just about style, it was about celebrating the soul of Nigerian textile heritage. Partnering with long time collaborators Essenza & MAC (who stole the show btw), and accessories from Maliko and Unrefynd (I’m obsessed!) was about reimagining nostalgia for a new era. This wasn’t just a runway show, it was a story, layered and alive. The late nights and creative pivots... you might not see them on stage, but I can tell you for free that’s where the real magic happens. I’m so grateful to every single creative, partner, and teammate who poured their heart into this. You can catch the full story through Bella Naija and Anikela — link’s in my bio. And if there’s one thing I’ll always say — the best stories are built in the unseen moments. ❤️ For @thehoznetwork Producer: @thechideramuoka Assistant Producer: @lukfl3x Runway Director: @godwinxokoruwa Videography: @artyangles @iam_ochizzy @shotbygafar @hd.artistry__ Photography: @tomiwaarije #TheHOZNetwork #BehindLagosCanvas #StorytellingInMotion #HouseOfZETA #MadeInNigeria #LagosCanvas

There is something about speaking inside a room that already believes in something. It changes the quality of the conversation. You stop performing ideas and start sharing them. That’s what this felt like. And the ideas I carried into that room came from a question I’ve been sitting with for most of my career: how do institutions actually earn trust — not claim it, not campaign for it, but earn it, slowly, through the accumulation of everything they say and everything they don’t? I explored that question, and a few others, in my recent feature with @businessdayng . Swipe through for some of what I’ve been thinking about — on storytelling, on culture, on what it means to build a brand that people actually believe in. Babess! Get ready for this week’s guest episode 🤭 Our lovely host @thechideramuoka sits down with the dynamic @onyeka.nwobu , an entrepreneur, leadership strategist, educator, and policy advisor, for a conversation that keeps it very real. Onyeka doesn’t sugarcoat it. The system wasn’t designed for us, so why are we still trying to fit in? They talk about why “waiting your turn” is one of the biggest lies we’ve been sold, why you don’t need permission to be powerful, how to stop chasing validation and start creating your own lane, and what it really means to build systems that work for you. This one is for the women who are done asking and ready to take. The full episode drops tonight at 6PM💜 ✨Tap the link in bio to subscribe and watch. #twssvodcast #thatswhatshesaid #womenleadership #twssnigeria #womenempowerment

Being a young woman in Nigeria shouldn’t feel like a survival sport, but most days, it does. We’re taught to downplay our voices, normalise discomfort, and call struggle “strength.” And for too long, we’ve carried things we should’ve questioned. That’s why spaces like @thatswhatshesaidvodcast matter. Because when women talk honestly, barriers fall. When we share our realities, the silence breaks. And when we see each other clearly, we start choosing ourselves again. If you’ve ever felt unseen or unheard, this space is for you. If you know a young woman who needs a reminder that she isn’t alone — send this to her🌺
