Select images for ‘Not Affiliated with 7-Eleven’, a zine made in collaboration with Emma Graham that can only attempt to capture the essence and magic of ‘The Big Gulps’ here in Revy. To really get a taste for this project (and some casual beers), swing by Mountain Archives ™ from 6pm – 9pm this Friday, January 10 for a first flip through this zine with the band and friends.
One of the most rewarding parts about creating things is when someone looks at a piece and investigates it with the same level of care and attention to detail that went into making it. While the vast majority of work these days is destined for the feed or a hard drive, pushing these special projects a step further (into print) is something I’m becoming more passionate about.
Sometimes you need to make a zine without limitations, help design band merch that rivals ‘The Eras Tour’, and put on a sold out Christmas show to give your friends the rockstar treatment they deserve. It might not be obvious today, but these memories will hold a very special place our hearts over the years, far beyond those of your favourite touring artist that you’ve never been skiing with.
