Speechless was the first song we wrote on this album. It was a bit wild how it came together. Antoine had a guitar riff he had played for years, that once we sat down to work on, evolved into what this song is now pretty quickly. It only took a few hours of song work to place the lyrics, figure out the chord progressions, then add the drums and bass. We named it speechless because the first time we all played it together…we were. We finally had one of own songs. ‘song done, no change, no touchy, next’ was a bit of our mentality at the time.
The lyrics for this one were written by Antoine, which (without asking) I think he would want to say are open to your interpretation, regardless of his intention for them. It’s a bit more relaxed than the rest of the album and provides some contrast to the high energy most of the other songs have.
Though all four of us contributed to this song, I think we all intuitively agree that it belongs to Antoine. We sculpted it around his ideas and are stoked with what came from that. Thanks for reading. Cheers.

In lue of this song being about my disliking of constant self promotion (Andrew), we’re not going to promote this song much (I’m saving it all for the next single 😆). I do want to take the time to say something here though.
Beef Dip is not a band any of us play in because we really want to ‘make it' in the music world. We wrote our songs for ourselves. Sometimes it has been an outlet to help deal with our shit, to remember a moment, acceptably scream at the world, and other times just cause rocking out is really fun.
With that being said, it's been unreal how many people in Revelstoke have supported us while we do this. We hope that some of these songs will resonate with you and we’re stoked to share the upcoming album on NYE. I want to give a shout out to all the bands in town that have supported us and help push live music forward in Revy.
Bands like:
AHRF, Pickle Juice, The Big Gulps, GURTH, Big Suz, Sweetgrass Caribou, The Porch Hounds, Public Swim, Sk8 Nite, Shoestring Necktie, Gino and the Bandit, Childish Bambino, Brainy and the Maniacs
If I missed your band here, know we still luv u, my bad. There are lots now. We wouldn't have anyone at our shows, or listening to our songs on other platforms without the support of the community and friends all showing up…so thank you all.
If you want to support us, go see a local band in Revy this winter! Or you can buy our stuff too I guess. The album is for sale for $10 on Bandcamp, or whatever donation you wanna make. Thanks for reading this.
With love,
Beef Dip
