Ami Cheon is a Japanese/Korean Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer from Regina, now based in Winnipeg. Self-taught on a donated church piano and through YouTube, she later studied performance and composition at Selkirk College of Music in Nelson, BC. In Winnipeg, she shaped her signature sound — lush layered vocals, stripped-back grooves, and emotional clarity inspired by artists like Yebba, Frank Ocean, and SZA.
Her intentional online presence and captivating artistry have caught the attention of every major American label — and even SZA herself, who followed, reached out, and continues to repost Ami after seeing her cover an unreleased demo.
Ami Cheon doesn’t ask to be seen — she makes work that quietly demands it.
