It's my birthday again and what better way to celebrate it than to speak God's mind? I almost gave up on this piece because I was swamped with work and activities but on Monday, I woke up with a turbulence in my heart. On Tuesday, I travelled to Abeokuta to record and shoot - one of the most spontaneous decisions I've ever made. Please listen with an open heart, God is speaking. PS: I have no rights to some of the clips in this video. The background music... however I must commend my Producer for making magic from it, the melody he added - Heavenly @_joydoncome @adept_visuals_ always eats, and he did magic with the video shoot and editing. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. 𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔/𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒐🥹❤️. I’d like to dedicate this piece to the biggest dreamers I know: my brother, Surprise, and my cousin, 'Bro Deji' (Oloba 1). You know how they say, "If your dreams don't scare you, you haven’t even started dreaming"? I believe it's true. So, I put this piece together to encourage every dreamer out there. Your imagination will soon become your reality—keep dreaming. 💫❤️ In April 2021, I completed a course on 'Storytelling for Social Change' from the University of Michigan. I’ve always known I loved storytelling, and I believe I’m one of the best storytellers God created. So, I committed to polishing this gold God gave me. In October 2023, I graduated from the prestigious @02academylagos as the best graduating copywriter. Huge thanks to my tutor, @jitanwrites and my amazing coursemates @dupe_jayeola , @phenomenalteddy , Tosin, @sabifitnesscoach , Adeola, Dabira, @adedolapoeb , and so many more. Earlier this month, I graduated from @delyorkcreativeacademy as a certified screenwriter—one of my biggest dreams come true. I’ve always loved film. In fact, my final year project was about film. I had the opportunity to interview @ruthkadiri (thanks to my cousin), Francis Onwochei, Cinemapointer (shoutout to Creative Nerd, one of my biggest inspirations—man is a bundle of talent 🥹❤️), @crea8ivenerd , Dr. Shaibu @igalaman , the DG of NFVCB (God knows I love this man for all the knowledge he poured into us during our UNILAG lectures), and Barnabas Emordi. Talking to @barnyee gave me a broader perspective on Nollywood. I remember being so scared to call him because, unlike the others I interviewed, I had no connection with him 😂. But from the first "hello," he sounded more like a big brother. That interview ended up being my favorite—we actually had a real conversation. Some time last week, I realized that what I wanted for my birthday this year was to bless lives. I was in the bathroom when "to the unknown God that Paul spoke of" popped up in my head, I immediately got out of the bathroom to record that bit and I ended up recording for almost two minutes. Later that day or the next, I completed the spoken word piece and reached out to my dad.  For this project we have spent thousands of naira and I'm still in awe as to how God provided. At some point I got tired but I told myself I wasn't going to give up.  I went to the studio, recorded the spoken word piece and the original background music and shot the video afterwards. Every line of the spoken word piece and the background music was God inspired. Maybe later, I'll share the story of how I got the background music from Abba.  This piece was designed to bless your heart. A vulnerable prayer. HELP ME LORDDDD! I know I'm a stubborn child but help me! Don't leave me. Side story: I recorded this weeks ago when It felt like I was doing everything wrong. It felt like I was drifting away from daily communion and soaking myself in work. It happens, life gets overwhelming sometimes. Between struggling to meet up with deadlines and tying loose ends, we loose sight of God. So maybe, just maybe you can take out 2 minutes of your time to just whisper these prayers with me 🫂🥹.
