THE AGE OF CONSENT reimagines Bronski Beat’s debut album with a fabulous line-up of contemporary trans & queer artists, accompanied by a full 7 piece house band playing bold new arrangements of the record.
This album had such an impact for queers and gays back in the 80s, and its legacy still carries on today. Music has always been a powerful tool of resistance, and this tour feels particularly important at the present time; especially with trans rights being under attack in the UK.

Joining our MANCHESTER show on 17 May as special guest is the brilliant @nia.choir !
The NIA Choir is a community R&B and Soul choir for female identifying people (NB & trans inclusive) living in and around Hulme and Moss Side. It was established in 2022 by the Untold Orchestra as a project intending to build confidence, community and connection for people wanting to sing with others. Led by Untold Orchestra vocalist Nicole Battick the choir has already performed at some iconic UK venues including the Royal Albert Hall, AO Arena, and of course their home, NIAMOS Arts Centre.

Behind the scenes and during rehearsals for The Age of Consent, Manchester cabaret star, actor and visual artist David Hoyle (@davidhoyleuniversal ) spoke with us on what the same-named Bronski Beat album means to him.
An unashamed portrait of radical queerness in 1980s Britain, the record - The Age of Consent - marked a pivotal moment in LGBTQIA+ cultural history, acting as a beacon of hope for a generation of disenfranchised youth.
