It was an enormous honour to be @davidhoyleuniversal ’s chosen one tonight @brightonfringe . To be immortalised in acrylics, red wine and bodily fluids as we hurtle towards armageddon. What a show! What a joy. And what a message! “Hallucinogenics for all…Now!” Thank you for my wonderful portrait dearest David - I will treasure it always xx

"It was an absolute soundtrack really to many, many people's lives - myself included."
Behind the scenes and during rehearsals for The Age of Consent, Manchester cabaret star, actor and visual artist David Hoyle (@davidhoyleuniversal ) spoke with us on what the same-named Bronski Beat album means to him.
An unashamed portrait of radical queerness in 1980s Britain, the record - The Age of Consent - marked a pivotal moment in LGBTQIA+ cultural history, acting as a beacon of hope for a generation of disenfranchised youth.
Hoyle joins a powerhouse line-up of ground-breaking queer and trans contemporary artists who will reimagine the album, including Planningtorock (@planningtorock ), Tom Rasmussen (@tomrasmussen ), Bishi (@bishiofficial ), David McAlmont (@david.mcalmont ), Sans Soucis (@sanssoucismusic ) and Nia Choir (@nia.choir ) backed by The Chateau Collective.
The Age of Consent is presented by The Chateau (@the_chateau_ ) and Southbank Centre (@southbankcentre ).
