Even thought I donāt draw or create as often as I used to or as much as I want, itās all Iāve ever wanted to do. But the mental gymnastics of life made it even harder to do the thing, when it used to come so naturally. Iāve done murals, live paintings, been in a couple art installations. There are people out there who have my art prints, even a couple of folks with my work on their body. Sometimes, I forget the things Iāve done because I play it down in my head. Like it is nothing to be celebrated.
The reasons for this picture book is not only for those who came before me, but for myself to prove I can do it.

The whole reason for wanting to make a childrenās book was because of my grandparents. After they passed I started to think of what mark will I leave in this world when I pass? Even though itās moving at a snails pace, I am still committed to this.
Iāve gotten to a point where Iād really like to see this through, so I set my goal to finishing this year.

Itās been a minute since I put some effort in to this passion project. 4 years to be exact. Lately Iāve been trying to hone in on who this original character is. His characteristics that makes him interesting to children.
I want to portray him as curious kid with a wild imagination. Iāve also wanted to give him a side kick if you will. Someone that brings a little quirkiness to the stories Iād like to tell.
I have some stories that Iād like to tell about growing up FILAM, but just not sure how to write it out.
