Our annual spring celebration with wags ‘n’ waffles! Thanks to everyone who helped out including expert waffle-makers, CFO Tricia Spellman and Interim Dean Doug Van Citters “DVC”!
We went out to comp and did our best. Although we had issues both mechanically and electrically, we were still able to go out and compete despite being unable to drive.
We are looking forward to getting the car running and putting it through rigorous testing to come back stronger in 2027.
Stay tuned in the upcoming days to hear more about comp. 🔥🔥

We’re excited to announce the keynote speaker at this year’s Investiture ceremony on June 13 is Maria Klawe, mathematician, computer scientist, and longtime champion for expanding access to #STEM.
Previously the first woman to serve as president of @Harvey_Mudd College, Klawe now serves as president of @MathforAmerica_ , leading national efforts to strengthen K-12 STEM education through the recruitment, support, and retention of outstanding math and science teachers in public schools.
“She has led engineering and STEM institutions that deeply value the liberal arts and has spent her career working to transform how we teach math and science, at every level, to engage and inspire new generations of engineers and scientists. We are honored to welcome her to Investiture this June.” said Interim Dean Douglas Van Citters ‘99 Th’03 Th’06.
Happy 20th anniversary for our @FormulaHybridElectric competition at New Hampshire Motor Speedway! (@nhms )
Since its founding by the @DartmouthFormulaRacing team, the competition has impacted the education and careers of thousands of students participating from 92 institutions. Next week, more than 500 engineering students will once again compete in the annual event from April 26-30.
The cars may be faster and the technology more advanced, but the spirit of the competition remains the same—a commitment to learning, teamwork, and innovation.
Next week is our 20th annual Formula Hybrid+Electric competition! This post celebrates members of the 2006 and 2007 @DartmouthFormulaRacing team who, 20 years ago, had a vision for a new competition where students could design and build innovative, high-performance hybrid race cars.
In 2006, hybrid systems were not permitted in the Formula SAE competition, so the DFR team and their faculty advisors founded the Formula Hybrid competition with the first official event held in 2007 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (@nhms ). Dana Haffner Guernsey ‘06 Th’08, now CEO of Voltus, was co-captain with Abby Davidson ‘05 Th’06 of the DFR team when they built their first hybrid car.
What began as a small initiative has grown into a globally-recognized competition that has shaped the careers of thousands of students participating from 92 educational institutions. This year, more than 500 engineering students will once again compete in the annual event taking place on April 26-30 at NHMS.
