Tiffany Foster’s practice moves between memory, embodiment and emotional residue, using figurative painting as a space where personal history and psychological atmosphere converge.

At Open Call for Artists, we think we know what a theme will bring — and every time, an artist proves us wrong.
For Earth and Creatures, we expected the wild and untamed.
Tiffany Foster showed us something quieter, but just as powerful — the deep, emotional bond between humans and the animals that live beside us.
Her work sits in a rare space: tender yet strange, playful yet deeply sincere. Each piece feels like a moment, an emotion, a memory — something you experience before you can explain. Guided by curiosity, she moves across mediums and lets each work decide what it needs to become.
This is nature, not as spectacle — but as connection.

Artist: Tiffany Foster
Title: Sunday
Medium: Oil on Panel
@tfosterart
.
About: “Sunday was inspired by the quiet devastation of loss, focusing on the moment when sadness settles into numbness. The title is intentionally humble, almost meaningless. The event which inspired this piece happened on an ordinary Sunday, without warning or ceremony. What makes the piece heavy is that nothing about the day suggested rupture. It was typical and routine, until it wasn’t.
The work captures that suspended state between feeling everything and feeling nothing, where time slows, and the body remains while something internal collapses.”
