Rivers are difficult places to film—especially when the camera needs to move with the current. For GUARDIANS OF THE SNAKE, we built a custom rig to mount our @gyrostabilizedsystems gimbal to a drift boat so we could capture the anglers and the landscape from inside the river itself. Combined with aerial cinematography, it allowed us to follow the story as it unfolded naturally on the water. Together with OWC we are releasing a behind-the-scenes video showing how we captured the footage and managed media while filming in a constantly moving environment. The Fish Camp team is super grateful for everyone we were able to work with over the past year! We launched the Fish Camp platform and released our first 16 masterclasses (more coming soon), raised funds for conservation events (i.e., Collabs for Conservation), and completed a short film (showing at F3T in 2026) among many other fishy endeavors. You can now watch Iconic Rises on the Frogwater Productions YouTube channel (see the link in Frogwater Productions bio). Told from the perspective of 3rd generation Jackson Hole fly fishing guide @bootsallen , Iconic Rises conveys the reverence the local fly fishing community has for the native Snake River Fine Spotted Cutthroat Trout and the upper Snake River fishery. At a time when climate change, water temperatures, in-stream flows, invasive species, fishing pressure and water management are all having compounding negative effects on many of the West’s wild trout fisheries, these native cutthroat trout are in relatively healthy condition thanks to fortuitous geographical factors and passionate human efforts. This story celebrates the successful conservation and preservation work of many non-profit and government organizations, while also communicating the need to avoid complacency by proactively addressing some of the fisheries’ looming threats.
