God’s Love We Deliver is thrilled to recognize President & CEO @terrencemeck ’s inclusion on the 2026 @TIME 100 Most Influential People in Philanthropy! This honor reflects not only his extraordinary leadership and commitment to service, but also the growing national recognition of food as medicine and its positive effects for those affected by illness.
Terrence’s leadership is deeply personal and rooted in compassion. After losing his husband, Rand, to pancreatic cancer in 2008, he experienced firsthand the critical role that nourishing meals and human connection can play during serious illness. That profound loss inspired a lifelong commitment to philanthropy and strengthened his belief in food is medicine and food is love.
As Terrence said, “Looking back, I can see how every part of my life, even profound loss, ultimately guided me to this work. I feel incredibly grateful to be exactly where I am supposed to be, alongside the God’s Love We Deliver community.”
We are thrilled to see Terrence honored in this way, and even more grateful to have his vision, heart, and leadership guiding God’s Love into its next chapter! Read Terrence’s feature at the link in our bio.
We’re so honored to be featured on the @abcworldnewstonight “America Strong” series ❤️
@debrobertsabc and the ABC News team joined us in our kitchen to see the care, precision, and love that go into every medically tailored meal. From our chefs and volunteers to the warm smiles at each delivery, they witnessed what it means to nourish our neighbors affected by serious illness.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, this moment feels especially meaningful. Our community makes sure our clients and their loved ones always have a delicious holiday meal.
We are also grateful to share this piece with @fimcoalition and our friends @openhandatlanta , @projectangelheart , and @mamaskitchensd .
A heartfelt thank you to Deborah, the America Strong team, and ABC World News Tonight for shining a national light on the power of medically tailored meals.

Thank you @elledecor for the beautiful feature of our Provincetown home! It was such a joy to share this labor of love with everyone. It took a village and we couldn’t have done it without some of our favorite people and friends - Architect Jeffery Povero of @poveroco , Designer David Cafiero of @cafieroselecthome and Landscape Designer Sam Spiegel of @spiegelco . Thank you all for helping us preserve this historic cottage and creating our dream Ptown escape. Check it out in the March issue! Photos by @stephenkentjohnson for @elledecor
Our guests were *driving* to deliver our meals yesterday, in a different way! 🏌️ Here’s a few of our favorite moments from the God’s Love Open, benefitting our neighbors affected by illness.
Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP; Tournament Partner Sponsor EY (@ey_us ); Clubhouse Sponsors Delta Air Lines (@delta ) and Kirkland & Ellis (@lifeatkirkland ); Tennis Sponsor Dena & Sam Lombardo; 40th Anniversary Sponsor Ropes & Gray (@ropesgray ); and additional sponsors Audi Southampton (@audisouthampton ), Tito’s Handmade Vodka (@titosvodka ), Wölffer Estate Vineyard (@wolfferwine ), Michael Kors (@michaelkors ), ISAIA (@isaia ), David Protein (@davidprotein ), and GSM Charity Auctions (@gsmcharityauctions ) for making this impactful day possible!
A little “birdie” told us that yesterday’s 3rd annual God’s Love Open (GLO) at the historic Maidstone Club was a huge success! Indeed it was, as it brought together sports enthusiasts, community leaders, and supporters for a rainy but GLO-ing day benefiting God’s Love We Deliver! ⛳️💚
Special thanks to tennis trailblazer and event emcee Katrina Adams (@katrinaadams68 ), golf influencer Savannah Gowarty (@savannahgowarty ), co-chairs Chef Mike Anthony (@chefmikeanthony ), Roberta Graves, Terence Meehan & Michael Sennott, and committee members James Palazza, Andrew Stone, and Nancy Weber for bringing such visibility and so many participants and supporters to this event.
From friendly competition to chatting over clubhouse cocktails, the event was a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish together. Last year alone, God’s Love prepared and home-delivered 4 million medically tailored meals to 15,000 New Yorkers affected by illness.
At God’s Love We Deliver, our staff are the secret sauce behind everything we do. And that includes our mighty and 🎶musical🎶 Facilities team.
This crew takes the care, presentation, and day-to-day functioning of our three buildings very seriously… with our clients and mission at the center of their work. Case in point ➡️ they made a music video to show you what they do, how they do it, and the faces behind it.
Our Facilities team is an integral part of our success, keeping the spaces where our mission comes to life running smoothly, safely, and with pride every single day. 🎶💙
Watch our latest music video (with beats and lyrics by Chris Paulino!) to meet the team: Will Baez, Monique (Mo) Baker, Allie Hargrove, Lawshawn McMullen, Chris Paulino, Carlos Violorio. Drop a comment to show your love and appreciation!
HUGE thank you to:
🎇 Chris Paulino for this video’s vision, music, and lyrics

“Leave all of your troubles and everything at the door and come in with one heart.” - Ganga Stone
In 1987, Peter Elliott saw our founder Ganga Stone on TV, asking for volunteers: “If you can peel a potato, wield a broom, or wash dishes, we need you.” Peter answered her call, becoming one of the earliest volunteers at our first kitchen on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
After nearly 40 years, Peter returned to God’s Love – much different building, but volunteers who still come in with one heart. This National Volunteer Week, we honor our community of over 20,000 annual volunteers and everyone who volunteers with us, past, present, and future! ❤️
It’s volunteer appreciation week! Become one of the 20k yearly volunteers who help provide 80k meals a week by visiting

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Gavin Creel, a beloved friend and dedicated volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver. While performing on Broadway, Gavin gave his time, service, and compassion to our clients and their loved ones.
We recently welcomed friends and family to celebrate Gavin and his new kitchen tile with a joyful volunteer shift, one of his remembered pastimes at God’s Love. On his birthday and everyday, Gavin is forever in our hearts ❤️
Protein. Keto. Intermittent fasting. Gut health. Food as medicine. Kate and I both tend to shrink away from buzzwords and trends. Of course, though, many of these terms and ideas come from real research and truths. It’s when they spin out of control and everyone hops on the bandwagon that we eyeroll.
Food as medicine is one of those terms that’s been taken out of context and used for just about everything possible. But since we Bittmans are such proponents of home cooking and the nourishment that good food can provide, we do believe in the roots of food as a healing power. When you see a big plate of homemade food, how can you not?
This week’s guests are Sven Gierlinger and Terrence Meck. Neither uses the term “food as medicine” verbatim, but both of them are doing important work to nourish people—the people who need it most. Sven is Northwell Health’s chief experience officer, and in 2017, under his leadership, Northwell—which has 28 hospitals—embarked on an impactful culinary journey, reimagining the way food is sourced, prepared, and served to both patients and staff. The initiative prioritizes fresh, locally sourced, ingredients, and has, as you may imagine, been very well-received.
And Terrence Meck is in his second year as the CEO of God’s Love We Deliver, a nonprofit that provides medically tailored meals at no cost to 15,000 New Yorkers each year. God’s Love is very special to Kate and me and we try to support them whenever we can. Before his tenure as CEO, Terrence served on the God’s Love Board of Directors for 14 years, and as Board Chair for four of those years.
Terrence and Sven hadn’t met before this interview, but their teams have worked together, as you’ll hear about, and it was wonderful, and inspiring, to get to know them both.
