Wendy’s now a late teen/early adult so I figured she needed a poster for her dorm room ✨ I can’t make out the artist’s name, but it’s in the third photo and they had their prints at the little gallery in Crawford Bay 🐺🌙

Hey pals, I don’t think I’ve actually said - I have a show on this weekend at Music on Main’s Modulus Festival. Perhaps you’ve seen the auto FB-posts and wondered why I’m calling myself anata? Sorry about that!! That was me— I broke the auto post thing!! Ahem— *Luddite Land Assembly* is this weekend at the Roundhouse Community Centre. As far as programming goes, if you liked the ethos of Sawdust Collector, but secretly craved a more complex production with pots of hot liquid, finicky chemical reactions and a bunch of buckets wearing natural dyed tube tops— this is for you! And don’t worry, there are also ways to spend time with us with your eyes half closed, listening to gorgeous sound and music. It’s a lot of things put together — it’s kind of wild— I can’t believe we’re doing it— but I think it’s going to be really great and I hope you can see it. It’s all happening in an installation that features a bunch of my natural dyed and printed textiles…3 years worth maybe…along with some new writing. Here are some photos of what I look like rinsing natural dye by night…All of the schedule and ticket stuff is up at @theonlyanimaltheatre and @musiconmain !!! Some of it is sold out. Act now, smooches!!!

Hi fellow animals, anata laylay here🌿 If you visited us at the Art Crawl, you may have seen our Luddite Land Assembly bandanas, designed by Keely O’Brien & natural-dyed by our very own Barbara Adler! We’re excited to bring these bandanas to Modulus Festival from November 7 - 9. This’ll be your last chance to pick one up before the New Year! If you have a ticket to one of our shows at Modulus, these limited-run bandanas will be selling for $20 and our “make it your own” misprint bandanas will be selling for a sliding scale of $10 - $15. We’ll have embroidery materials to make these bandanas have your own special touch. Just coming to the installation? You can pick up a bandana for $25 or $20-$15 for a misprint. These have been dyed with plants we grew during The Growing Season. They are great as bandanas, tapestries, or gifts this winter. We are only doing a run of 50 bandanas. If you want your own special Luddite Land Assembly piece, come see us at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown from November 7 - 9. Image Description: Slide 1: One yellow and one pink Luddite Land Assembly bandana hanging on the wall and a table with more bandanas are in front of the wall hangings.

Hey Sunshine Coast friends! Today’s the last day to see @theonlyanimaltheatre ’s work at the Sunshine Coast Art crawl. You can come stitch, dye, and make cordage with us in our activities room. And, take a break in the sound room, along with all my ruffles. It’s the first time I’m sharing these pieces together, where I live. I’d love you to see them ! 10 am - 5 pm pm at Rockwood Lodge, Sechelt. Venue 135. xxb

Hi fellow animals, anata laylay here🌸 Here’s a little sneak peek of what we’ve been working on… During the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl this weekend and at Luddite Land Assembly in November, we’ll be selling limited edition Luddite Land Assembly bandanas! The bandanas are designed and printed by Keely O’Brien for Luddite Land Assembly, and natural-dyed by our very own Barbara Adler. Keely O’Brien is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates handmade objects with innovative theatre creation. Devoted to a thoroughly DIY process, Keely’s work includes experimental performance, imaginative ephemera, and interactive experiences. She often creates collaborative projects with community members who may not consider themselves artists, and invites the public to participate in unusual meaning-making experiences. Keely is Co-Artistic Director of Popcorn Galaxies, a theatre company with a focus on unconventionally structured, site-specific, and audience-activated performance. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Simon Fraser University, and is a self and family-taught visual artist. She lives in Richmond, BC, on unceded territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples. We’re only doing a run of 50 bandanas! If you want your own special bandana, come see us at the Rockwood Lodge in Sechelt from October 17 - 19 and at Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown from November 7 - 9. Slide 1: Barbara in the middle of hanging bandanas to dry. Slide 2: A close-up of the hanging bandanas. Slide 3: An abundance of bandanas in Barbara’s kitchen and living room.
