This World Telecommunications and Information Society Day, we spotlight Project GRACE, a healthcare-focused mobile app 📱developed by Kong Kazu and Xave Yap, graduates from TP’s Diploma in Information Technology @tpiit . Created in collaboration with Singapore General Hospital (SGH), GRACE was designed to support caregivers from diverse language backgrounds, including foreign domestic workers, who assist elderly patients with medication management. By allowing users to scan medication labels and view clearer translated information, the app helps make caregiving safer, easier, and less stressful ✨. The project brought together skills from their TP learning, including mobile app development, database management, UI/UX design, software engineering, and project management. Using tools such as Flutter and Firebase, Kazu and Xave turned classroom learning into a practical solution for real-world care. The completed project was subsequently presented to SGH as part of ongoing conversations on how digital solutions can support more inclusive and accessible caregiving. For them, GRACE showed how technology can do more than connect systems. It can connect people across language barriers, improve access to important information, and support real needs in everyday care. After losing his grandmother to pneumonia at a young age, Esben @pumpkin_mjre developed a deep interest in healthcare systems and how technology could make them more efficient and accessible ⚙️. Combined with his passion for biomedical engineering and curiosity about how science and technology can improve lives 🧠🔬, this led him to pursue a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering at TP’s School of Engineering @tpengine ✨. Driven by purpose and innovation, Esben went on to represent Singapore and clinched Gold in the Autonomous Mobile Robotics category at both WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 and WorldSkills Singapore 2025 🥇🤖. As Team Captain for Team Singapore at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025, he also took on a leadership role, guiding and motivating his teammates throughout their journey. Beyond academics and competitions, he actively gives back to the community through volunteer work. In collaboration with HaoRenHaoShi ❤️, Esben was involved in organising a mobile grocery initiative that benefited more than 100 individuals, including elderly individuals, persons with disabilities and low-income families, through TP Engineering Peer Mentors. Looking ahead, Esben is set to pursue Computer Science with a second major in Psychology at NUS, with hopes of creating more human-centred healthcare solutions through technology 🌏💡. With heart, purpose and innovation at the core of his journey, Esben continues to show how technology can be used to create meaningful impact 🌟. Kai Ning @kai_ningg_ a Diploma in Business graduate from TP’s School of Business @tp.biz once thought basketball would shape his future, but when things did not go according to plan after O-Levels, he chose to not let setbacks define him. Instead, he found a new path at TP one that challenged him to grow both on and off the court 💪📚. Inspired by his mother’s entrepreneurial journey and seeing how businesses adapted during COVID-19, Kai Ning developed a strong interest in business and marketing. Through projects, presentations, and creative campaigns at TP, he discovered what dedication and teamwork could achieve 🚀. His hard work eventually earned him a place on the Director’s List every year and a Diploma with Merit 🏅. Beyond academics, Kai Ning led TP’s Men’s Basketball Team as Captain 🏀 while competing in Singapore’s National Division One League at just 17 years old. At the same time, he stayed committed to giving back to the community through volunteering with seniors, organising activities and building meaningful connections with the elderly ❤️. Looking ahead, Kai Ning hopes to continue pursuing business studies at a local university and eventually build a business of his own 🌟.
