Joash @joash_tan1 , a Diploma in Computer Engineering graduate from TP’s School of Engineering @tpengine , first discovered his passion for engineering through the quiet influence of his late grandfather, whose hands-on tinkering with everyday electronics ⚙️ sparked in him a lasting curiosity and drive to create meaningful solutions.
In his early years at TP, Joash thrived both academically and beyond the classroom, representing TP in badminton competitions 🏸 while completing the National Youth Council’s Leaders Course under the Singapore Young Leaders Programme.
However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. In his second year at TP, he was forced to defer his studies to undergo intensive treatment and relearn how to walk.
Returning a year later with resilience and determination, Joash transformed adversity into strength. He achieved a perfect GPA and earned repeated placements on the Director’s List 🌟, while serving as President of the Engineering Makers Club and receiving the CCA Merit Award (Leadership). Committed to making a difference, he actively contributed to community projects, mentored juniors, and led workshops introducing engineering and coding to young learners.
Driven by purpose, Joash applied his technical skills to impactful innovations such as BreathCam, a cost-effective tool for early gum disease detection recognised at the Engineering Innovation Challenge 2025. His internship with GovTech also further strengthened his capabilities, where he contributed to software releases and developed a security compliance standards playbook.
Awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Award, Joash’s journey reflects courage, perseverance and a deep commitment to using technology for good. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement and for inspiring others with your story 👏.

Inspired by her sister’s journey from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to university, Crystal @milowow_ discovered her passion in the built environment sector while pursuing a Higher NITEC in Civil and Structural Engineering Design ⚙️. Her fascination with how spaces are imagined, built, and experienced inspired her to continue her journey at TP, where she enrolled in the Diploma in Architectural Technology & Building Services from TP’s School of Engineering @tpengine .
At TP, Crystal discovered her strength in digital construction, specialising in Building Information Modelling (BIM). Her dedication, precision, and consistency led her to clinch the gold medal in the Digital Construction category at WorldSkills Singapore 2025 🥇.
Beyond academics, Crystal embraced leadership roles as a class representative and secretary of the Global Ambassadors Club. She also contributed actively to community initiatives such as the itsrainingraincoat Christmas donation drive and the TP Global Ambassadors X Nature Society Singapore (GA x NSS Rewilding) Project 🌱.
Driven by a passion for sustainability in the built environment sector, Crystal plans to pursue a degree in Infrastructure and Project Management at the National University of Singapore. She hopes to create greener, more liveable spaces where people can pause, breathe, and reconnect 🌍.

From a heart for service to a passion for flight, Diploma in Aerospace Electronics graduate Chow Jun An @junaannn from TP’s School of Engineering @tpengine is on a purposeful journey to make a difference ✈️.
From supporting elderly residents in Tampines to pursuing his aspirations in aerospace, Jun An is guided by a genuine desire to uplift others.
Whether distributing groceries 🍏 or taking time to listen to the stories of those who live alone, Jun An believes that small acts of care can leave a lasting impact. This same sense of purpose fuels his journey in aerospace, inspired by his father’s service and nurtured through hands-on learning at TP.
At TP, he co-founded DroniX, a student-led drone soccer club ⚽️, building it from the ground up into a thriving community that clinched second place at the Drone Soccer Championship 2024. As head of operations for the Engineering Peer Mentors club, he also created opportunities for fellow students to give back, reflecting his belief that leadership is rooted in service.
With plans to pursue electrical engineering, Jun An hopes to continue using technology to improve lives while staying committed to the communities that shaped him.
