🐩☁️ Softcore is a warm, contemporary serif typeface rooted in 18th century German-Dutch typography. Its construction is inspired by J.M. Fleischmann’s work. It has a strong core with a soft character, a sensation of ink spreading on paper. Despite historical roots, its shapes have been reinvented for the digital realm. Its soft, rounded strokes are an effect of sketches made with a modern tool, a rounded, felt tip marker. The shapes were digitised with precise outlines that thrive in display sizes and optimised for smaller and longer texts, where it keeps legibility and a balanced texture. The family consists of a whole range of weights, from Thin to Black, with corresponding Italics, available in static and variable formats.

“The Lack of Forest” by Martyna Miller @marcyna_marcyna is a moving reflection on life in a landscape transformed by ecological disaster. The book is set in the Tuchola Forest region in Poland, where a violent storm in 2017 destroyed vast areas of woodland and deeply affected local communities. Over several years, the author lived and worked in this environment, observing how both nature and people adapt to loss. The project combines personal experience, field research, and conversations with residents who witnessed the destruction.

A new monograph developed by Giuseppe Oliveri as a Master’s thesis at the ISIA Urbino explores the life and work of Sergio Ruffolo, a multifaceted creative figure who moved fluidly across the visual culture of 20th century Italy.
Designer, illustrator, painter, and sculptor, Ruffolo contributed to shaping the visual identity of major Italian institutions and companies. Over the course of his career he developed communication projects for organizations such as RAI and Eni, while also collaborating with political organizations including the Italian Socialist Party. His work demonstrates a versatile approach to visual language, moving between graphic design, illustration, and artistic experimentation.
Ruffolo’s story extends far beyond the studio. During the Second World War he joined the Italian resistance as a partisan. Captured by Nazi forces, he was imprisoned in Rome’s Via Tasso Prison, an experience that forms a powerful backdrop to his later creative production.

Filip Burno’s @filipburno book Architektura i elektryczność. 1880–1940. Konstruowanie, doświadczanie, reprezentacja was published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. @aspwwarszawie
It is a richly illustrated study of the use of electrical energy and artificial lighting in construction.
The the goal of Kuba Maria Mazurkiewicz was to design a publication in harmony with the featured iconography. The monochromatic archival visuals determined the black-and-white, minimalist character of the book, while the yellow, appearing only on the cover, references the glow of the illuminated glass façades and building interiors.

New! Choppin reimagines the Didone serif with a bold, contemporary twist—featuring a generous x-height, sharp detailing, and interconnected serifs. Inspired by musical structure, its proportions follow a five-line grid, echoing the rhythm of notation. Originally created for the 63rd season of the Chopin Concerts in Warsaw’s Royal Łazienki Park (2022), Choppin is now available in both proportional and monospaced styles, each with matching italics.
