For our first live performance during @worm_rotterdam 25th anniversary, we are looking for volunteers! We are looking for 5 vampire butlers 🧛🏻‍♀️ who want to serve food during the main course 🍝 You need to be available on the 27th of September between 19-21pm for the performance and earlier in the afternoon for a set rehearsal. All volunteers need to bring their own wardrobe. Our local angels have been living it up and truly becoming part of Rotterdam’s vibe. But here’s the tea: gentrification has shifted into overdrive, and their beloved hangouts are set to be demolished by summer’s end. Amid this chaos, self-indulgence is brewing among the angels, a vibe that’s both chill and a bit defiant. It’s wild to think, but Earth was never their forever home, and these celestial nomads are always ready to bounce to the next spot. So, what’s next? Nox wasn’t easy to get a hold of, the first time our team tried to corner her for an interview, it was like trying to catch a cloud in a net! And when we did manage to sit her down, our cameras went haywire faster than you can say “divine intervention.” Her energy was so strong! Radiating through the whole building, neighbours made serious complaints. Introducing Sean Kevin de Jong, your new favourite next-door vampire, the vamp with the local flavour - dropped and bred in Roffa, oftewel geboren en getogen. Turned in the neon glow of the 80s, nestled between containers at Waalhaven, he’s the youngest non-beating heart in the vampire house. Look for him ar nightfall, Sean’s on the prowl for simple pleasures: a quick hustle, a fat joint in a hidden alley, or perhaps a bit of mischief with a willing companion. Consent is key, he pointed out many times to our camera crew. “We’ve got 4ever to chill,” he’d say, shrugging off the weight of eternity with a nonchalant grin. But deep down, beneath the bravado and bluster, Sean yearns for the mundane: a cozy home, a steady job, and maybe even a family of his own. Tonight, amidst the mist-shrouded peaks of the Balkans, we unveil Xala, a creature born from the fairytales in Bulgarian folklore, forever dancing under the pulsating beats of pop folk divas from a bygone era. She is a vampire, a witch, a goddess of seduction, to just list a few of her many faces… Her existence is a constant battle between the forces of light and darkness, her heart torn between the yearning for love and the thirst for power. As you approach her, the air crackles with anticipation. The scent of ancient magic mingling with the heady perfume of rakia and cigarettes, keeps you on your toes. Xala’s eyes, twin orbs of liquid night, hold you captive. Radiating an aura of ethereal allure, they possess an unmistakable arrogance, a carefree elegance that bewitches all who encounter them. These angels have been sent to Earth with a mission, or have been banned from the holy realms.. though plagued by memory loss. With little to no guidance, the angels are now addicted to angel dust and they’ve struck a deal with the other mythical beings of Rotterdam - the vampires. Vampires sell the angel dust in clubs at night, for the angels provide them with supreme quality pre-packed blood. The angels dance, liberated from the burden of consciousness, as if their goodness has long been affirmed. They dance as the feathers of their wings lose significance amidst their self-indulgent pursuits.
