This was fun to shoot with an amazing, supportive agency and legendary crew.  I was inspired by yet another nickname, Queen Teen after I dug deep my ancestral history. RAW: an exploration of grief That time of year again where I do a post to remember my brother on his D-Day. This time feels different though. I think I’m finally ready to share this little personal film from a couple of years ago, just after my mum joined him in Bully Heaven, also taken far too soon. This was shot during a Mia Wray music promo and this moment just happened, a simple outtake as the sun broke through the trees. Captured in one take by DP @joedouglasdop and @steadijayy with me frantically collecting armfuls of leaves and some accidental, god-like cinematic magic. I’m not religious, and I’m certainly not an angel. But when Grant took his own life, I started looking at the world differently to try and make sense of it all. In this moment, with the light piercing through the trees, I felt them both there, If you look closely maybe you can too. I couldn’t edit, grade or even remove the timecode as It felt wrong touching it. This is the RAW moment exactly as it happened. Being left behind by suicide is its own kind of grief. It never fully leaves you and sneaks back up when you least expect it. As a spiritual buddha Bull in training… this is for anyone feeling this kind of pain right now: give it time as it won't always feel like this, I promise...
