My TEDx talk is now live. 🎉🎉 Jump on the link in my bio to be among the first to watch it! 🤗
Especially if you’ve ever found “look for the positives” to be the most useless advice when you’re going through a hard time.
Because I feel you.
The reality is, there isn’t always a silver lining in everything that happens.
Some situations are just unfair. Painful. Heartbreaking.
And saying that out loud isn’t negativity.
It’s reality.
And we need tools to deal with the actual reality we’re facing - not the prettied-up version we see in an Instagram quote.
That’s why I created this talk.
To share one practical shift that helped me move from powerless to purposeful.
From feeling stuck at the effect of what happened…
To learning how to change the effect it had on me.
Not because it made the pain disappear.
But because it helped me stop letting it make me bitter - and start using it to build something better.
I want the same for you too - to know how to step back into the one thing we all want most when life is at its worst: agency.
The power to influence, change and create life on our own terms.
Please give it a watch, like it, share it with your friends, your family, your workplace, your online community - honestly, your neighbour’s cat if they’re emotionally available.
Your support in these early days would mean so much. It really does help the talk reach more people.
Huge shoutout to all the amazing other speakers I had the honour to take the stage with
@tedxsutherland_ - truly all extraordinary in their own way, and
@katrinaharte thank you for bringing such an incredible event not just into the Shire, but the whole world.
I’m so humbled I had the chance to be a part of the
@tedx_official phenomenon..
I poured everything into this.
Every line. Every edit. Every tweak. Every word. Every pause. Every tear. Every breath.
All in honour of my beautiful mum and sister, Julie and Nicole Fitzsimons.
This one’s for you, girls. ❤️
