Designed and fabricated for@artofplay , this playful magic+ game shop in San Diego’s Little Italy transformed a compact footprint into an immersive experience filled with curiosity, craftsmanship, and discovery.
From custom shelving to a bespoke card deck display wall, every detail was created to celebrate the artistry of tactile games, magic, puzzles, and beautifully designed objects, the kind of place where every visit uncovered something unexpected.
@artofplay has since moved their flagship experience to Brooklyn, NY, but this Little Italy shop remains one of our favorite projects and easily one of the best gift shops San Diego ever had.
Fun, thoughtful, beautifully curated, and full of personality — it perfectly reflected the playful spirit of the brand and the joy they bring to design and collecting.

What started as a simple idea—a black and white checker tile tabletop— required a precise approach to get it right.
We CNC-routed the @richlite surface to receive each tile, allowing the pattern to sit flush and perform under heavy daily use. Just material meeting material, cleanly.
Fabricated custom by @tecture , these tables carry the same language as the rest of the space: graphic, tactile, and built to last.
