Tecta configurator. Your design. Our craftsmanship. Wicker, fabric, leather, wood or tubular steel – every combination of materials alters the look and feel of a piece of furniture. Step by step, this gives rise to a design with a distinctive character. We see this as our contribution to offering something unique amidst the overwhelming flood of products. With our configurators, you can freely combine materials, fabrics and colours from our range for a growing selection of models and view the results directly in the preview. You can then use augmented reality to place the configured models virtually in your own room. And because we make our furniture to order, there is often scope for further customisation. We are happy to consider using fabrics supplied by the customer or special colour finishes. Please do get in touch. D6 Mousse – curves rather than edges. Hanne Willmann’s take on a classic.

How does a modernist design change when it loses its austerity and gains a softer quality? With the D6 cantilever chair for Tecta, Berlin-based designer Hanne Willmann offers her answer – unveiled to the public for the first time in Milan.

In a playful exploration of Marcel Breuer’s iconic D40, the D6 moves away from sharp edges and austere geometry. In their place comes a friendlier, more inviting design language: Softly rounded, approachable, almost self-evident – underpinned by a casual opulence.

At its heart lies a generous cushion, whose suppleness gives the chair its nickname ‘Mousse’ – a subtle allusion to lightness and volume. It is framed by a gently curved steel structure that combines stability with an open, inviting gesture.
 “The D6 is like a welcoming gesture,” describes Willmann. And that is exactly how it comes across: open, warm, unobtrusive. Tecta’s exhibition stand at the Salone del Mobile 2026 followed a clear principle: the white cube as a stage, the circle as the guiding form. Large silver circles structured the space, creating a sense of calm and presence, and anchoring the design in the materiality itself – as a reference to tubular steel, surface and origin. Warm, vibrant hues provide a deliberate contrast, creating a precise balance of form, colour and material. Mit seinem zarten Fliederfarbton hat er sich in unsere Herzen geschlichen. Zusammen mit dem vielseitigen Meta Side Table von @newtendency ein schönes paar mit starkem Charakter! The F51 armchair by @tecta_kg ,designed by Walter Gropius in 1922/23 for the Bauhaus director’s office with its strictly geometric design, is our favourite in the showroom this month. With its delicate lilac hue, it has stolen our hearts. Inspired by Gunta Stölzl – An interview by @smowonline with Katrin Greiling Sometimes you come across a designer not through a new piece of furniture, but through a familiar classic. Our attention was drawn to an armchair we thought we knew: the F51 by Tecta. A Bauhaus design by Walter Gropius, seen countless times, often cited – and yet rarely truly re-examined. Katrin Greiling has approached this iconic piece of furniture with remarkable precision. Rather than altering its form, for example, she has shifted the design to a different level: material, texture and colour. Through new fabric and colour compositions, and through a deliberate interplay of contrasts, surfaces and perception, the F51N armchair is not (merely) redesigned, but reinterpreted. Volumes emerge, proportions shift, and the structure takes on a different presence in the room. A conversation about materials and responsibility, about shifting perspectives – and about the quiet power of colour.
