I don’t know how I keep being positioned near the ops position but still a brilliant view of @teenjesusandthejeanteasers and the sound and light ops at the Forum. Always great to see how other technicians work and take just a little bit from each concert I go too. Loved the delay effects in action. #forum #theatre #livemusic #teenjesusandthejeanteasers

📣👏✨A huge shoutout to our brilliant design team for crafting the world of Revolt. She Said. 🎟️ Tickets via link in bio These beautiful words from Theatre Travels @theatretravels say it all: 💡 Lighting Designer: Emily O’Brien Brown @bobbcreative and Lighting programmer/technician: Jarman Oakley @technicalproductioncaptain “No unintentional shadows are found in the night, and the use of colour and spots provide new ways to affect the overall tone of the show.” — Theatre Travels 👗 Costume & Set Designer: Silvia Shao @cloudnine_asylum “Even the costume design, often taken for granted by companies, has its own unique statements. Silvia Shao (who also designed the set) has found ways to place the actors in different roles with minimum fuss, but to make real and impactful statements about those characters.” — Theatre Travels 🎧 Sound Designer & Composer: STOZ @stozondeck.02 “The sound design by STOZ  is equally impressive. Without pretension or unnecessary flourish, the compositions punctuate both the humour and the key statement of Birch‘s script.” — Theatre Travels 📸 Photography by Darren Gill @darren.gill #RevoltSheSaidRevoltAgain #AliceBirch #MelbourneTheatre #IndieTheatre #AustralianTheatre #TheatreRebellion #FeministTheatre #WomenInTheatre #ArtsInMelbourne #MelbourneEvents #TheatreLife #LastShow #PerformingArts #BluestoneArtsSpace #TheBoweryTheatre ID: 1. ✨ Meet the incredible creatives behind  Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again  by Alice Birch. A ferocious and funny dissection of language, power, and identity, Alice Birch’s Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. unites a collective force of artists inspired by bell hooks’ insistence that “feminism is for everybody.” Together, they bring a theatre that refuses to behave — unflinching, unapologetic, and urgently alive🔥. 🎭  Creatives: Director: Emily O’Brien Brown @bobbcreative Production Manager: Bingyao Liu @liu.bing.yao Assistant Production Manager: Esther Beixuan Geng @estheryahey Stage Manager: Ella Campbell @bluelladesign Set & Costume Designer: Silvia Shao @cloudnine_asylum Sound Designer & Composer: STOZ @stozondeck.02 Lighting Designer: Jarman Oakley @technicalproductioncaptain Tech Operator: Jethro Waldron @jethro.waldron Marketing Coordinator: Esther Beixuan Geng @estheryahey Publicist: Emma Drysdale @emmadrysdale_ Graphic Designer / Promo images photographer: Ben Andrews 📅 25-29 Nov, 2025 📍Bluestone Church Arts Space  📅 13 Dec, 2025 📍The Bowery Theatre  🎫 Book now via 🔗 in bio #RevoltSheSaidRevoltAgain #AliceBirch #MelbourneTheatre #FeministArt #Womanhood #IntersectionalFeminism #AusTheatre #ContemporaryTheatre #IndependentTheatre #MelbourneCreatives #WitPresent #JoinTheRevolt ID: A series of six images introducing the nine creatives behind Revolt. In 2022, I directed BULL by Mike Bartlett as my graduation production for the Master of Directing Performance at the VCA. Sharing a short montage of some production clips! BULL is a scathing portrait of corporate competition, examining the ruthless dynamics of downsizing, where the character’s survival depends on their ability to dominate and demean others. It’s a piercing look at cruelty and the human cost of ambition, so I staged it in the round as a boxing ring, each actor entering from a separate corner. The play includes depictions of bullying, harassment, body shaming, sexual assault and partial nudity. Elise D’Amico (@intimacychoreography ) was integral to ensuring that the creative process remained safe, ethical and transparent for all. My associated research project focused on developing brave spaces, inclusive rehearsal methodologies for CALD performers, and for actors with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Informed by Applied Linguistics, I examined how directors can support actors’ linguistic identities and use language as a dramaturgical tool. We incorporated both Mandarin and Portuguese, employing code-switching to explore exclusion, belonging and shifting power relationships. This project was a highlight of my time at VCA, made possible by the extraordinary creative team below. I remain deeply grateful to Dean Drieberg (@deanjdrieberg ), my industry mentor, for his generosity, guidance and leadership in advocating for BIPOC representation (see andrieberg.com/bipoc-in-theatre), and to Kat Henry (@drkathenry ), whose knowledge, encouragement and warmth made the entire course such a rich and empowering experience. WWE Crown Jewel, Smackdown and Raw. One of the best weekends of my life! Getting to see these athletes in the flesh doing what they do best was an incredible thing to see. Homegirl @rhearipley_wwe stole the house, and an incredible 5th last match for @johncena and @ajstylesp1 , bringing the feels as one of the best matches of the year. The chants, the songs, the T-shirts and comradery between everyone was on full display every night and a joy to watch. Thank you @wwe for bringing your show to Australia. It sure won’t be the last time I see it live!

Throwback to three years ago and some rehearsal photos from BULL by Mike Bartlett. BULL was my graduation production for my Master of Directing Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). After deferring my Independent Directing Project during the Covid lockdowns, it was both a relief and a joy to finally stage this powerful play at VCA’s Martyn Myer Arena. BULL follows three colleagues fighting to survive corporate downsizing within a workplace culture that prizes ruthlessness. It’s a sharp, unsettling one-act exploring cruelty, bullying and survival, revealing how quickly ordinary office interactions can turn vicious. The play includes strong language, explicit themes (bullying, harassment, body shaming, sexual assault) and partial nudity, so I was grateful to work closely with Elise D’Amico (@intimacychoreography ) to ensure a safe and respectful rehearsal environment. My directorial research project focused on developing brave rehearsal spaces for culturally and linguistically diverse performers, and for actors with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Drawing on my background in Applied Linguistics, I explored how directors can foster CALD representation in performance. This production integrated Mandarin and Portuguese, using code-switching to reflect exclusion and power dynamics between characters. It was a privilege to collaborate with such talented and courageous creatives on this darkly comic and thought-provoking piece.
