Curated by Teaspoon Projects (@teaspoonprojects ), the installation brings together two works by Kelly Wu (@kellywustudio ) - โKate Moss in a qipaoโ and โMangled Cath Kidson Bowling Bagโ - and a consumed edition of Sonya Dervizโs (@sonyaderviz ) Wyn wine (@wynwine ).
Through their shared language of material, surface, and transformation, the works oscillate between private handling and public display. Dervizโs abstract mesh forms invite touch, rearrangement, and close looking, while Wuโs works draw on personal and cultural memory โ referencing British iconography, celebrity, and the coded aesthetics of popular culture โ to explore how racialised experiences are often mediated through surface, humour, and style.
Together, the installation constructs an environment that mirrors the dynamics of the fair itself, staged inside Villa Carlotta, the laboratory of a former perfume factory.
SALOTTO at Villa Carlotta is conceived by Harlesdan High Street (@harlesdenhighstreet ) and Jonny Tanna (@jonnytanna ), with participation also from @taeproject_@cam.contemporarie , and @galeriedroste .

Act 1 ๐ญ saw @lily_bunney_ debut her part-research project part-performance ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต ๐๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฆ. She read all of ๐๐ฆ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ. We asked her our questions.
Act 2 ๐ญ paired @elleannac with cohost of the impeccable @rehashpod - the wonderful @hannahmraine - for ๐๐ฆ๐ง๐ณ๐ข๐ฎ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ต๐ฏ๐ฆ๐บ ๐๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ด. Together, the pair traced the use of Britneyโs image and its many possible meanings, from the historical all the way up to the contemporary.
