πππ‘ππ¦πͺπ πππ―π, a group exhibition by Jihoon Cho, Anastasia Belinskaya, Yijia Wu, and Seihee Cho, curated by Taehyun Jung.
We live among countless objects so closely that we rarely stop to notice them. They sit beside us, carry our routines, and absorb our habits. Over time, they gather traces of use, neglect, and quiet familiarity.
πππ‘ππ¦πͺπ πππ―π begins with a small shift in perception. It brings together artists working with ordinary materials to make minimal, precise interventions, exploring how everyday experiences shape memory and sensory awareness. When something familiar no longer behaves as expected, or appears just out of place, it can feel momentarily strange, almost as if it is slipping away from what we thought it was.
Old wooden clock combined with modern wristwatch is set into motion again; stone-carved breakfast holds the residue of a childhood ritual shaped by parental expectation, where the promise of '100' quietly falters; dice made from coal become part of an inverted game of time and fate; the 117 wooden beads hold a fragile image of memory through touch-an open process speaks through a multitude of materials and allusions, revealing in objects the reside of behavior, and orienting ourselves within the changing moments of visibility.
These gestures do not transform objects completely, but loosen them from their fixed meanings. In doing so, objects begin to function less as things and more as propositions: sites where metaphors emerge. This becomes an open process that expands perception and speaks through a multitude of materials and allusions, revealing in objects the reside of behavior, and orienting ourselves within the changing moments of visibility. In this way, we mark time through objects, as unfamiliar moments surface from the already known or the not yet defined.
