Mains come as a choice of fried chicken smoked short rib or fried celeriac, both swimming in Matt’s ridiculous mole butter, with frijoles charros & slaw on the side. And yes, it all ends with a smoked tres leche.

Let’s start with a banger 🔥
One of my favourite grilled Turkish dishes
Altı ezmeli
Translates to “bottom mashed” a combination of grilled onions, aubergine, peppers all chopped to make a beautiful bed for the grilled meat! We decided to give some love to the offal cuts 💪🏽
Charred veg:
1 aubergine
Few red peppers
1/2 green peppers
2 white onions
3 tomatoes
Method:
Add all veg directly on coals or in a hot oven 200° until charred but not burnt! Onions will take longer so put them in first 😎 once everything is charred chop roughly and season with olive oil, salt, smoked paprika, oregano and confit garlic
Grilled skewers:
1 ox heart
200g lamb liver
100g lamb fat
Method:
Dice the selection of meats into 2cm cubes and skewer in any pattern you like!
Also this is a dish to be inspired from so please mix it up! You might want a veg mushroom skewer or just lamb it’s up to you 🙏🏽 and even add a twist to the charred veg with your favourite veggies & herbs

Still full after last week’s first ever Marquee Moon Supper Club? We know we are and what a way that was to kick things off for Supper season. Huge love to @ronnys_og for bringing the bold, soulful flavours of Samoa to Dalston. From plates stacked high with roast pork, salted beef, sapasui and more, to that massive takeaway box of ‘oka, island-style generosity was in full swing. Add a glass (or two) of @kiwicruwines into the mix and it felt like the kind of munch that’ll live rent-free in our bellies for a long time.
Also, a huge shout out to all of you that came down in numbers, we hope you left well fed and with a smile to top. Now, for us that was just the beginning…

We caught up with man of the week, @ronnys_og , ahead of his supper club this Thursday as he undergoes prep and making the final adjustments for the big day. We hit Ridley Road market, just around the corner from our home in Dalston, with him as he gets ready to make one of his signature dishes and arguably the most exciting on the menu, Oka I’a.
Watch ahead for some insight into the food, the history behind the dish and remember, this is just a teaser for what’s to come on Thursday. There are very limited seats left, with 10 seats left for the first sitting at 6pm and one more table left for the second sitting at 8pm, you’d better run fast to the bio if you want to experience the finest Samoan food in East!

We’re delighted at the reception so far for Ronny’s supper club here at The Marquee Moon! Ahead of the big day next Thursday, Ronny popped in this week to get the ball rolling and prep is about to begin on his Samoan Sunday feast-inspired menu. After the resounding success of his deli collab earlier in the summer, Ronny’s Island banquet is not one to be missed.
