Where Penny and I got to see firsthand how sport builds leadership and empowers young players.
And it's why through Team Up and PacificAus Sports, Australia’s backing sports at every level in Fiji.
Great day in Suva today as we joined our dear friends from Australia - Hon @senatorpennywong , Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Pat Conroy, Minister for the Pacific and His Excellency Peter Roberts, High Commissioner to Fiji.
As part of DFAT’s Pacific Aus Sports and other Australian-funded programs, dozens of budding young athletes got top notch skills coaching and fun sessions across various sports (including rugby - the greatest sport in the world 😁).
Mesu, Vilive and Kavaia represented the Fijian Drua this morning. We are proud of and grateful for the partnership with DFAT and Pacific Aus Sports. We simply wouldn’t be playing Shop N Save @superrugby and Super Rugby Women without their support.

🌟Powerful and inspiring session of Tackle Bullying for Muaniweni senior classes.
✅️Today’s indoor session for years 6 & 7 focused on our Tackle Bullying activity, where students showed incredible enthusiasm and teamwork. Through group discussions and interactive exercises, students explored the different types of bullying, understood the role of a bystander, and shared ideas on how to stand up and create safer school environments.
🤗It was amazing to see the level of engagement as students confidently presented their thoughts and solutions. Even more meaningful was the appreciation shown by the Head of School, Mr Jone Koroi, highlighting how impactful it is for programs like this to reach rural communities from Suva and spark important conversations.
🤝Together, we’re building confidence, respect, and stronger communities, one session at a time. 🤗
🏉 League for Life ignites at Wainibuku Hart Primary! 🌞
😄Even under the blazing sun, the students of Wainibuku Hart Primary School brought unstoppable energy to their first week of outdoors session. Their enthusiasm was contagious as they learned the basics of rugby league from
✅️passing drills,✅️shimmy‑shimmy side step and ✅️dummy pass.Each classes rounded off with a Fun and lively passing race that had the field buzzing with cheers and laughter.
