Weeks posts
Bula from Fiji! This week, close to 100 Team Up representatives from across the Pacific and beyond are gathering in Nadi for the Australian Government’s Team Up Reflection and Celebration Workshop. For the first time, implementing and lead partners are all together in one space, sharing stories, lessons, challenges and the impact sport is creating across communities throughout the Pacific. A powerful week of reflection, connection and celebration ahead. We were honoured to officially open the week with Chief Guest Kate Coffey, Director of the Pacific Sports Section at the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, who along with Tarita Clark (Pacific Sports Section SSP at DFAT), Leslie Tikotikoca (Pacific Disability Forum) and Barbara Schweizer (International Olympic Committee's Olympism 365) were welcomed with a traditional Fijian kava ceremony the evening before.

Great day in Suva today as we joined our dear friends from Australia - Hon @senatorpennywong , Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Pat Conroy, Minister for the Pacific and His Excellency Peter Roberts, High Commissioner to Fiji. As part of DFAT’s Pacific Aus Sports and other Australian-funded programs, dozens of budding young athletes got top notch skills coaching and fun sessions across various sports (including rugby - the greatest sport in the world 😁). Mesu, Vilive and Kavaia represented the Fijian Drua this morning. We are proud of and grateful for the partnership with DFAT and Pacific Aus Sports. We simply wouldn’t be playing Shop N Save @superrugby and Super Rugby Women without their support. Vinaka Australia🇦🇺 🎵Au Masulaka- Ratu #TosoDrua #PacificAusSports
