Our latest work taster with
@talentaccelerator_ gave students the chance to explore silkscreen printing with
@shojisilkscreen .
Students discovered how designs are transferred onto screens, how inks are layered and how pressure and technique can change the final result. Guided through each stage of the process, they learned about preparing screens, mixing paint, aligning prints and experimenting with colour combinations. We then had a go at creating their own silkscreen stickers. It was brilliant to see the group experimenting and problem solving.
Workshops like this give young people a real insight into creative production processes and the many skills involved in printmaking. A big thank you to
@shojisilkscreen who helped make the session possible and shared their expertise with the group.
We can’t wait to see how these students continue to develop their creative ideas and hopefully submit their work to the youth open call exhibition with
@hospitable_environment this September.
