I Went Looking for Lions is a documentary about wildlife preservation, dwindling species, and Africa’s role in protecting what’s left of the wild.
But for me, it became something deeper. What started as a trip to South Africa turned into a journey of learning, unlearning, and searching for meaning in the silence of nature.
This project changed the way I see the world—and my place in it.

This story is tense and uncomfortable, but It’s human. Making this film forced me to sit in uncomfortable spaces and trust quiet moments. The cast and crew brought these characters to life in ways I honestly didn’t see when I was writing it.
