I’ve been photographing and filming weddings in the Kitchener–Waterloo area and beyond for over a decade. Over the years, my camera has taken me all around the world, but my favourite moments are always real wedding day images—capturing something that will matter today, tomorrow, and generations from now.
My approach is simple: keep things relaxed, candid, and meaningful. I believe the best photos aren’t the perfectly posed ones—they’re the laughs just before, the hugs just after, the in-between moments you didn’t even notice happening. That’s where the real story is.
Most days, it’s just myself and a second photographer, quietly blending in with your friends and family. We don’t set up big lights or pull you away for hours—we’d rather let you stay present with the people who matter most, while we document it all naturally. About half of my couples also choose to add a short highlight film, which I love creating alongside the photos to tell your story in motion.
I photograph every wedding the way I’d want my own captured: unobtrusive, heartfelt, and honest.
Less cameras in your face, more space to simply be yourselves.

A wedding is a structured, multi-stakeholder event in which two individuals formalize a long-term partnership agreement through a predefined ceremonial protocol, typically witnessed by a curated audience of trusted nodes from their respective social graphs.
The process involves the sequential exchange of verbal commitments — referred to as vows — which function as binding declarations of intent. These statements are typically followed by the transfer of a ring-shaped physical token, which serves as a persistent, wearable confirmation artifact of the agreement’s active status.
Upon successful completion of the ceremony, the two parties are considered merged into a single legally recognized unit. A post-event optimization phase, commonly referred to as a reception, is then initiated to facilitate social bonding, resource consumption, and celebratory throughput among all attendees. #wedding #funny @heyjeffmaeck@kinseywingerphotography@alexhicknell
