Coronation Concert. What an experience and what a team. Have had the best time supporting the work of some incredibly talented colleagues. I feel very humbled and grateful to have been working alongside whole departments, artists and professionals who are both good humans and are exceptional at what they do, the speed at which everyone pivots together to accommodate the unexpected is really something to behold! Been a long time since we had a holiday - absolutely mad when you look back at your photos and realise they were 2 years ago! Time flies and the happy memories are visceral. Grateful for the everyday adventures of life and work in the meantime and mini breaks doing the world of good. Putting in an official request to the universe for some time for some of this in our futures🤞🏻

✨Happy World Theatre Day✨ A love letter to long techs, dressing room friends, maps on maps, hours of stagewrite, cheat sheets in quick changes, the never finished notebooks, the endless juggle of the Covid days and the on the road adventures - the glamorous and the mad, sitzprobes being like Xmas day, the moving the furniture out of the way and choreographing at 1am, the shifting things around a model box and prep days that end in hysteria. To the long Xmas eve drives home in my micra with a full face on or having a blowout on the m25 at 2am after the last Sat night show in manchester in your van/home, getting stuck in Retford and then getting stuck in the luggage rack at Retford….😂 The dance partners, the scene partners, the swing teams, the understudies, the casts and crews, musicians, departments, management and creatives of unbelievable talent and heart. The agents who know our worth & have listened to us tell the ‘long story’, families and chosen families who support. Sitting in @leedsplayhouse and witnessing many peoples first theatre visit. Seeing the community that many regional theatres serve and enrich. Getting to create and have space to think and make people think. The different hats I have been allowed to wear, literally and figuratively, sometimes in one show. Big thanks to anyone who has trusted me to make with them.❤️ It certainly has its moments and it’s not a perfect formula by any stretch as any and all who sail in her know but I love the nuts and bolts of what we do; the stories we get to make and tell. The amount of FUN I have had at work is a bit of a gift - it’s connected me to some of the most beautiful and important people in my life and I have seen SO many of them bring joy to audiences too. Journey to Cornwall / Van Views. Reality: The universe really chose a resilience building time for us 😆 A week of mystery van problems, Ruf dog wasn’t allowed to walk from a knee injury so we had to carry him, and just when we were out of the woods with the van, he got stung to bits by a sneaky wasp on his car seat. We had turned around to come home when the van mystery was finally solved. 🛠️🚐🐝 🏥 🏳️ ….☀️ We were tested 😂 and a bit exhausted, I saluted every single magpie I saw (if you know you know) You always build your expectations up to a holiday when you need a break. However: the generosity we experienced from friends we were visiting and bumped into and met on the way, helping us with big and little kindnesses was so special & reminded me how much we need community in our lives. Also @tobyhigginsmusic was the calm, generous & knowledgable energy/mechanic/legend that kept us moving & laughing. You may watch Wheeler Dealers in peace on repeat forever amen. I used to go to Cornwall every year growing up and I loved it even more than I remembered.
