My piece is inspired by the mystical deer which is native to the Netherlands, capturing the contrast between the gentle beauty and raw power of nature. It reflects the delicate balance between softness and brutality in the natural world🌷

So so thankful for this opportunity to paint alongside such incredible artists!
Really wanted to push myself to try my version of a portrait for this piece, and after many sketches and lots of changes whilst in the flow - I’m really happy with how my representation of the feminine mystic turned out ✨
I wanted to capture the sense of the interconnectivity and knowledge shared between natural worlds. As well as how jellyfish symbolise how the currents of life may allow us to flow in unexpected directions , yet we can transmute the currents into our electric power. Lifting the veil to discover life’s mysteries 🫧

Finally sharing some of the incredible shots taken by @arcadia of the final artwork at the Peace in the Hood festival in Zimbabwe’s Chitungwiza township (Chi-Town) !
Painted at @glastofest within the Alchemists Playground in collaboration with the kids of the festival , as part of @arcadia x @magamba_network x @in_place_of_war project called Build the Peace 🫶
Such a beautifully surreal experience having the pleasure to be involved in the designing and painting workshop to bring the front of the ex-satellite to life. Then seeing it land within the heart of Chi-Town to be decorated even further with messages of love and peace ☮️ 💖

Butterflies are the most symbolic creature for transformation , resilience and hope. For this design , barbed wire transforms into a butterflies silhouette, its form breaking free at the centre to symbolise liberation. The palette celebrating the Zimbabwean flag , embracing national pride.
Above , flames rise like a phoenix transmuting any suffering into strength (also seemed fitting for Arcadia 🔥!).
Below, protecting the innocence of the children. Their creativity and hope empowered to shape the future !

Definitely one of the trickiest shaped surfaces I’ve worked with , deciding to do a symmetrical-ish design with fiddly details at the centre I could never quite match up was certainly a challenge! 😅 but a good lesson to let go of perfection and flow with that happened..

Finally getting around to posting about what an awesome and surreal experience I had the absolute pleasure of having back at @glastofest this year 🤘🔥
Painting an ex-military satellite dish for @arcadia as part of the global network artistic peacebuilding projects, called Build the Peace.
I designed and began the painting pre-show (mostly in the evenings, around my day job on site leading the Scenic on the @block9official area😅) then during the show , I led kids spray painting workshops each day at the Alchemist’s Playground next to @tribewoodland and @wtfworkshops , to help collaborate on the mural. Encouraging them to paint symbols that made them think of peace and messages to send over to Zimbabwe.
This was then shipped to Peace in the Hood festival in Zimbabwe’s Chitungwiza township (Chi-Town).

Wow what an incredible experience painting my biggest wall yet for the new entrance mural for Botanica at @boomtownfairofficial 🌿✨👁️
This year’s story line involved new portals opening around town. The Tica creatures represent what our collaborative imaginations can create and when we live in symbiosis with our environment. Spawned from the tear drop , which feeds and replenishes our landscapes. From the mud appears the fruits of the mycelium, as from our pain can create a chance for change.
The brief really pushed me outside my comfort zone , but I really loved the process… plus using brush again 🤤
Big up @greta.l.king for putting me in contact with such a wonderful crew 💜 and so much appreciation for the boundless creativity that’s all around at this site ! Plus a whole lot of graft 👏
