AMBIENT SAUNA
w/ Taqsim, Kenjiro, Chaia, & Josh Dunn
Islandview Sauna Club invites you to an immersive Ambient Sauna Night in Detroit. **NOTE: While we are selling 6-8pm sauna tickets and 8-10pm sauna tickets, all ticket holders are welcome to come enjoy the music from 6-10pm. However, you are only permitted to use the saunas themselves during the slot you purchased. This is to ensure that the saunas remain an uncrowded and peaceful experience for all.** This night focuses on blending ambient textures with archival and traditional music. Opening the night, Taqsim/تقسيم presents a set inspired by the textures of Arab folk melodies and the need to find healing and home. Their sounds connect Detroit to the restless and resilient energy of Beirut’s underground music scene using synthesizers, sampled drums, and soundscapes. Kenjiro and Chaia will then present a duo SP-404 / synthesizer project inspired by Yiddish archival samples and deep drone meditations. Finally, closing the night is Josh Dunn, presenting his signature otherworldly sound for a deep listening DJ set. Move between the sauna and cold plunges, or settle into a chair by the fire pit. We invite attendees to listen differently, close their eyes, and drift into another realm with Ambient Sauna.
Charge up and decompress before techno’s biggest weekend of the year at this deep-listening and ambient sauna session with local sound conjurers.

This iteration of his quartet includes NYC/DC-based double bassist Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements, @takealukearound ), violinist Ayman Asfour (@ayman.asfour.violinist ) and percussionist Dylan Greene (@dillychee ).
