Posted @withregram ⢠@monikadalmancasting Iâve been casting for over 8 years, and in the past year, Iâve had the joy of bringing on two incredible assistants who Iâve been training to cast alongside me.
Right now, weâre offering FREE CASTING SERVICES for TELUS STORYHIVE productions!
My Kelowna Casting Associate @tanyakellercasting & Toronto Casting Assistant Ashley Wood will be stepping into the role of Casting Directors on these projects â and Iâll be there every step of the way to support and supervise the process. Weâre doing this because I believe the best way to learn is by doing â and by casting a project from start to finish on their own, theyâll gain invaluable experience and build strong, professional resumes.
Why STORYHIVE? As @tanyakellercasting says, it's both big and small at the same time âĽď¸â
If youâre interested, please email us at [email protected] with the subject line FREE CASTING FOR STORYHIVE and weâll get back to you ASAP.
đ Iâm based in Vancouver, and my assistants are in Kelowna and the Toronto area â but we can cast Canada-wide with ease.
Letâs help you bring your STORYHIVE project to life with the perfect cast. đŤ

ACTORS: Hereâs the easiest way to stay connected with us, find our breakdowns, get help with your materials, and jump into workshops or one-on-one consulting.
Our casting calls go through Breakdown Services (Actors Access) and Casting Workbook, but we also keep our own actor database that we use when weâre searching for specific roles and talent. If you want to be on our radar, make sure youâre signed up through the LinkTree in our bio!
Weâve also been building workshops and consulting options for actors who want more direct guidance, whether thatâs help with positioning, materials, career questions, auditions, self tapes, or just figuring out your next step.
A few things weâre especially excited about right now:
⢠Our May 30th fundraiser workshop supporting Ashleyâs son Chance in his fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Every dollar goes directly to the fundraiser and youâll receive a tax receipt.
⢠Our Actor Fall Reset Workshop happening throughout August, which includes group sessions plus a one-on-one call focused entirely on you and your goals.
⢠Quick 30-minute consulting calls for actors who want direct feedback or advice without waiting months for answers.
If you have questions, please email our submissions team at:
[email protected]
because DMs can get buried very fast over here.
We love actors, and we love helping people build sustainable, successful careers. â¤ď¸
Okay you guys, youâve been amazing at tagging yourselves and we are gonna be creeping your profiles and seeing your work for days!
Now hereâs the next challenge:
Tag an actor or filmmaker who inspires you... especially someone super talented whoâs probably too shy to tag themselves.
We want to see the people YOU believe in.
WHEN ACTORS ASK âSHOULD I QUIT?ââŚ
MY ANSWER IS YESâŚ
You should quit replaying your tape 47 times wondering if one line ruined your career.
You should quit comparing your journey to actors on completely different paths, timelines, ages, markets, and opportunities.
You should quit measuring your value as a human being by bookings, callbacks, followers, or credits.
You should quit treating every ânoâ like proof youâre failing.
You should quit assuming someone else booking a role means thereâs less room for you.
You should quit letting this industry decide whether youâre worthy of confidence, joy, rest, or peace.
The healthiest actors are usually the ones who: Learn the material. Do the work. Enjoy the work. Submit the tape. Then move on with their lives.
That mindset doesnât make you less ambitious. It makes you sustainable.
But should you quit acting?
Nah.
You shouldnât quit acting.
If youâre an actor, you NEED to be acting.
Nobody who didnât need it would put themselves through this industry in the first place.
You just need to quit the stuff that isnât serving you or your acting.
Secretâs out! Weâll be on the big screen! On Gordon Alley will be having its Okanagan premiere at the Kelowna Independent Film Festival on June 21st
@ 1:00PM, at the Grand 10 Landmark Cinema đď¸

Most of you know the team here at Monika Dalman Casting; Tanya, Lesley, and Ashley.
What some of you may not know is that Ashleyâs son, Chance, who is also an incredible young actor, was born with cystic fibrosis.
Every year, Chance leads a fundraiser called âCF2 Chance: Fighting Cystic Fibrosisâ in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. This year, weâll be walking alongside thousands of others in the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History, raising funds and awareness for Canadians affected by CF.
We would truly love your support.
To help raise money this year, weâre doing something special.
Weâre hosting a Casting Workshop / Showcase where our entire team will be present to watch your live performances and provide notes in real time. Itâs a chance to perform, be seen, and get direct feedback from all of us in a supportive, focused environment.
⢠Date: May 30
⢠Time: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Pacific
⢠Location: Zoom
⢠Cost: $100 per spot
⢠100% of proceeds will be donated to Chanceâs fundraiser
Spots are limited, so if youâd like to participate, you can sign up through the form in our Linktree at the top of our profile (link in bio).
If a workshop isnât the right fit for you, you can still support the cause. Anyone who donates $25 or more will be entered into a draw to win a free spot in one of our future workshops.
Every contribution helps move us closer to a future without cystic fibrosis and supports Canadians living with CF.
Thank you so much for supporting Chance!

Weâve had some great early feedback on our film. Remember that if youâve had a chance to see it to give it a rating on IMDB. The more ratings we have the more exposure it will get!
