What the Hands Remember is more than an exhibition — it is a living, breathing archive of thread, memory, movement, and identity.
This deeply immersive experience transforms the The MAD Art’s gallery into a space where floating cinematic portraits and tactile artworks exist side by side, blurring the boundaries between documentary film and material art.
Through six intimate documentaries, I had the honor of capturing the powerful artistic worlds of: ✨ @yochiyavin ✨ @marinafontstudio ✨ @karlakanto ✨ @magdaloveartist ✨ @auroramolinaart ✨ @lisuvega
These extraordinary South Florida-based artists, each shaped by diverse international and immigrant roots, speak through fiber, texture, ritual, and memory — weaving personal and collective histories into breathtaking works of art.
As visitors move through the space, they are invited to witness the hypnotic rhythm of hands stitching, pulling, layering, weaving, and remembering. The physical artworks stand as tangible echoes of the cinematic stories unfolding around them, creating an experience that is both emotionally intimate and visually immersive.
Captured through my lens as a filmmaker and visual storyteller, this project has been one of the most meaningful artistic journeys of my life. I cannot wait to share it with you all at MAD Arts this July.

Celebrating some big wins this week ✨
From FIU’s Wall of Wind flipping a mobile home 🌪️, to covering the disaster field exercise 🚨, to testing my immersive video experience for What the Hands Remember at MAD Arts — which honestly emotionally blew me away.
Ended the week with some Tarks Alaskan Snow Crab 🦀 and a lot of gratitude.
It definitely wasn’t easy with bronchitis kicking my butt all week, but feeling sooooo blessed to still be creating, documenting, and seeing these projects come to life.
Huge thank you to the incredible people I work with at FIU - Maydel, Dianne (Wil miss you), Madeline, Jonathan, Chris, and marcomm team — for the support, collaboration, and trust this week.
And so much love to the entire MAD Arts team for helping bring this immersive experience to life.

First week at FIU in the books 💙🐾
Excited to officially join Communications & Media Relations as Assistant Director of Multimedia Production, working alongside an incredibly talented team—photographers, videographers, writers, social media pros, and so many others who bring FIU’s stories to life. Even better, getting to collaborate with familiar faces I’ve known and respected for years like Madeline and Dianne.
And yes… my boss Maydel is pretty amazing (not just saying that to suck up… maybe a little 😄).
Being back on a college campus again brings back memories of my time at UF—there’s an energy to it that never really leaves you. It’s been great jumping in, learning a lot, and meeting so many passionate people.
Looking forward to helping visually tell the powerful stories, research, and people that make FIU such a dynamic place.
