Our workshops bring “Talk To Your Mom” @talktomompod conversations into real life. In classrooms, living rooms, and community spaces, participants practice breaking silence together and learn tools for healthier communication. Transparency ✨ We talk about the things families often avoid, and we show that those conversations can lead to healing. That is what “Talk To Your Mom” is all about. Skills ✨ Participants walk away with practical tools for healthy communication and a deeper understanding of their family history. Bonds ✨ Workshops strengthen both individual participants and the communities they belong to. Let’s work together in 2026! Partners reach out to [email protected] and let’s build! ❤️ #talktomompod #mom #healingmotherwound #healingfamily

And on December 7, 2025, generations of women aged 16-92 gathered. I am so thankful to God for making my very first KK Media workshop for our “Talk To Your Mom” franchise a success. Thank you to every soul and heart that made this moment possible, because as we know, it takes a village. Our social worker @luvflowe (LCSW) took us through an interactive healthy communication exercise, our “Talk to Your Mom” co-host and minister and life coach @tarawoner , walked us through a powerful release exercise and demonstrated to us in real-time the healing power of transparency. Thank you to our @naacp image award-nominated audio producer @ambercsmith_ for your talent and workshop support. And @stemsca staff for opening the doors of your space for an empowering Sunday afternoon in South Pasadena. And to our gift bag sponsor @blackgirlvitamins , the healthy goodies you provided to our guests was the sweetest touch. This event wouldn’t have been possible without @fractalstrategies and grant support from @thewildseedorg and technical support from @morgiwrites at @morganitewritingco . Your hands on this work carried it to completion with care. And to all the mamas, elders, aunties, nieces, daughters, cousins, grandmas who showed up for your bloodline on the frontline, we stand in reverence for your courage and openness to transform. Brands and community partners, let’s team up! Send an email to [email protected] to be involved in our next event. 🥹😭 Until we meet again, love love love, ❤️KK #talktoyourmom #talktomompod #momadvice #momdaughter #family

In this 🌟ALL - NEW🌟episode, Tarawoner and Keyaira are joined by our favorite 😍 southern belles @toyajohnson and @itsreginaecarter as they promote the latest season of their @wetv reality show, “Toya And Reginae.” Tarawoner and Keyaira have a raw and heartfelt conversation about how they moved past old resentments to build a stronger, more loving bond. Keyaira opens up about working through feelings of distance when she wasn’t as present with her mom as her siblings, while Tarawoner shares how she’s learned to embrace Keyaira’s busy, purpose-driven life without frustration. Toya & Reginae shared how their own mother-daughter dynamic has evolved—especially as Reginae navigates life in Los Angeles, miles away from her hometown of Atlanta. The loving pair share tips on how to navigate life changes, including long distance, with patience and love. You don’t want to miss it! #toyajohnson #reginaecarter #reginae #momanddaughter #momlife #momadvice

It’s still#NationalPoetryMonth and we are still celebrating the art and necessity of the craft. Here’s a clip from the conversation I had with @BET ’s @thedanielleyoung about how poetry helps me, and others, process the violence that has been inflicted upon us by systems and community. Words help us process memory and poetry is a part of the alchemy of turning darkness into light. Poetry has always been and will always be the medicine. Check out the full conversation now on YouTube via the link in my bio and read the “Still We Write” feature now on BET.com #blackpoets #poetry #writersofinstagram #poetrycommunity

Many people fantasize about other people’s lives, but do you recognize and could you endure the cost? On season 3 episode 7 of @talktomompod , co-host and Elle contributor Keyaira Kelly chats about how her first jobs as a kid included being a paper girl and cleaning toilets with her family’s custodial business. These early jobs are the foundation of her humility, and set the stage so that no matter where she traveled, or who she interviewed in her glossy magazine career (from Oprah to Samuel L. Jackson), she would always remember where she came from. New episode: “Cotton Fields To Cover Stories” is live now. What jobs did you have before your big career break? #talktomompod #momadvice #momanddaughter #generationaltraumahealing❤️

Trauma-informed nervous-system coach and mom of daughters, Alonna Elaine, explains how unhealed mother wounds impact not only future parenting, but our relationships with other women and the romantic relationships we hold close to us. She affirms healing isn’t just about yourself, it’s about how it affects us as a whole. There is no shame in needing to do this work. But not doing it can cost you relationships with others and yourself. How do you all see unhealed mother wounds show up in adult relationships? Let’s talk 👇🏿#talktomompod #motherwoundshealing #motherhood

Many relationships with mothers are less than ideal and are traumatizing—and that’s why the village exists. Aunties, grandmothers, cousins, and elders often step in where mom gaps are left. In this clip, Maya Angelou shares how she healed after being abandoned by her mother and assaulted by her mother’s boyfriend, as described in her book ‘Mom & Me & Mom.’ Mothers are human and often fall short. Through therapy and community support, those gaps can be filled—and healing is possible. What was your relationship like with your mom? Let’s talk. 💬 #talktomompod #motherwound #motherwoundhealing #momanddaughter #talktoyourmom

Shout out to the Black grandmas who keep it real. In a documentary on D’Angelo’s life called, “Devil’s Pie,” the musician recalls how his grandmother’s real-talk and openness to modernized church music influenced his early years. Was your grandmother the truth-teller of the family? Let us know below 👇🏿#talktomompod #grandma #dangelo #moms #momadvice

The “KK” in KK Media stands for “know” and “known.” Our podcasts, e-courses, and writing coaching services are the “to know,” part, which speaks to learning, education, and the acquisition of knowledge. The “known” is the workshop extension of the business, where we create spaces for women to be witnessed and heard and seen with love in safe space. These dual-parts will always work together in our media business structure to make sure that our creations go beyond content into community. Our ancestral poetic elder, Maya Angelou only had one son, but in “Letters To My Daughter” the single-mom shares the loving words she has for the daughters she “adopted” in her close circles. Mothering comes in so many different ways ❤️ Who mothered you who was not your mother? New episode of “Talk To Your Mom” is live now, and we are discussing generations of Black women’s work. #mayaangelou #motheradvice #mothering #familymatters #talktomompod
