Your voice matters. Your vote matters.
Don’t let anyone tell you that voting and politics don’t matter.
Our vote gives us agency over our future.

We’re challenging the Virginia Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the results of the redistricting referendum in a blatant attempt to overrule the will of Virginia voters.

Today, the NAACP, alongside the NAACP Tennessee State Conference and a coalition of civil rights and community organizations, filed a federal lawsuit challenging Tennessee’s newly enacted congressional map.
The lawsuit argues the map dismantles the state’s only majority-Black district and weakens the voting power of Black Tennesseans.
“Tennessee lawmakers made a deliberate choice to silence Black voters by dismantling a district that has long ensured representation for one of the state’s largest Black populations.” @derricknaacp

The Supreme Court directed a lower court Monday to reconsider a voting map in Alabama that would eliminate a majority-Black congressional district, leaving just one other district where Black residents make up the majority.
The NAACP slammed the Court’s decision, calling it “a return to Jim Crow.”
In her dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor said the lower court “could still find that Alabama had intentionally discriminated against Black voters in violation of the 14th Amendment,” according to ABC News.
Black voters in Alabama have spent years in court fighting for a second congressional district where they’d have a voice.
What an incredible night at @thewebbyawards , celebrating those who use their voices to drive real change online.
