I’ll be talking about the media organization I founded @soundfynd , music journalism, and the New Blog Era at the @soundsthatmove festival next week 😋 Beyond honored to be on a panel moderated by the legend @timmhotep , alongside the incredible cultural workers @jumons , @saintvirgil.mp3 , @ibreathemusicallday , and @annabelleklinee ! It’s a difficult time for journalism and media, with consolidation and a shifting landscape, so I’m looking forward to have the opportunity to talk about the music industry, how to uphold journalistic integrity, and the importance of the written word in 2026 with such amazing, accomplished people. I’m sincerely sorry to anyone that worked on a project with me that is still unfinished. I’m working on rectifying the loose ends, like the interviews I never published (so many!). thank you to all my friends and collaborators who have been incredibly patient with me. if we spent time together this year I love and appreciate you. so many people have held me down despite all of the issues I’ve had (breaking my wrist really sucked) and I am forever grateful. this year I became a real journalist and next year there is so much I want to do (covering tech and politics, doing mutual aid events, more interviews, making art, more events, more community, etc). anyways, if you’ve ever read anything I’ve written or watched anything I’ve put out thank you. there’s so much slop and social media is breaking our brains but there’s also so much good in the world! fuck AI fuck and techno fascism. woke is back in 2026!!! shoutout Zohran Mamdani fr that’s my goat

Danny Brown is an incredible artist and human, and it was a massive honor to host the QNA at the release event for his new album “Stardust” ⭐️🔍 As a journalist, those kinds of opportunities don’t come often, so I’m beyond pleased with how the conversation went. @xdannyxbrownx , @nnamdithegreat , and @beatsbyholly are class acts and it was really fun chatting with them. Building @soundfynd with my friends has been a crazy experience. Balancing establishing a media organization with my various health issues has been very difficult, and the team including @kaylalwallace @jocedotcom @donnielttrmn @begetrare have been helped ease that burden. After I broke my wrist in September I stopped taking on as many new projects but when @dartparker asked me to host this event I just couldn’t say no. Thank you, Dart! Danny’s new album is mind-boggling. He keeps reinventing himself with every release, and as a person who identifies as non-binary I massively appreciate Danny’s embrace of a new generation of queer artists. It matters, especially at a time when trans people are under attack in the US by legislation targeting their very existence. Danny’s experimentation in hyper-pop and electronic music is a logical next step in his career evolution, and it was a big deal to me to play a small part in celebrating it. So honored to have interviewed the wonderful Justice Smith (@standup4justice ) for @flauntmagazine Issue 201, “Get in the Ring” 🥊 Smith, who endeavors to comprehend his own arc, is a gifted actor caught between worlds in more ways than one. LA-born, he has skillfully oscillated between critically acclaimed indies and mainstream blockbusters, but he clearly relishes the variety of challenges he has had the opportunity to take on as an actor. Fascinated by his range, from Nickelodeon shows to heady horror, I ask about his process. “There’s so much downtime that happens in between jobs as an actor,” he reasons. “I just try to make sure that I’m living life, observing relationships, examining the self. That is my training for when I get back on set… most of your reference for how your character is going to feel about a thing, or the arc of a story, is from just experiencing life… I try not to treat my characters as mountains to climb, so I look within and find different versions of myself that are the character. That’s always easier to do.” “Every character you will ever play already lives within you,” says actor and artist Justice Smith, citing a sage piece of advice from an old acting teacher.
