Throughout this week I’m releasing a new work each day, today continuing with Nested Ontologies, featuring music by @synthmage.jace .
Nested Ontologies examines how reality forms through layers upon layers of interconnected systems. Simple underlying structures give rise to increasingly complex behaviours and forms, where shifts at one level ripple upward and reshape everything built above it. Biological, computational, and physical processes become intertwined, emerging from foundations that continuously influence the layers they support.
Through generative art and moving image, the work traces evolving networks of structure and transformation, creating systems that appear simultaneously organic and synthetic, ordered and alive.

This new series builds on the artscience moving-image work Abiogenesis, an exploration of the origins of life that has continued to engage audiences through exhibitions around the world since its release three years ago.
Nested Ontologies investigates the concept of supervenience: the way complex forms and behaviours emerge from, and remain dependent on, underlying structures, where subtle shifts at one level can transform everything above it.
Using generative art and moving image, the work follows the formation of layered realities and evolving systems that appear simultaneously organic and computational.

At 32 I’m more mobile and strong than I was at 13! I have hip and hamstring flexibility for the first time ever and I’m realizing that’s a huge part of being able to move easily. Feels good to still be peaking daily;)
