So much going on lately, I’ve probably under-posted about this new lovely preamp I’m making!! The dual output transformer DejaVu 500 is the ultimate desert island, nth degree mic preamp with just the right amount of mojo that goes great on anything and everything. These puppies are about to go into production so there is just more week to lock in a DejaVu 500 for the preorder price of $799. If you want 2 or more let me know and I’ll give ya an extra 5% off. More sampling of the new Ethereal Soundscapes plugin! I’ll be starting active beta testing in the next couple weeks if all goes well and I need about 5 more trustworthy people who are willing to deeply feature test and report bugs for me once it’s ready. Any volunteers?!🙋🏼‍♂️🙋🙋‍♀️

It’s working! It’s working!!! 🤯 Deep in the hole of my basement lab I’ve been working tirelessly with my new AI assistant to develop my first soft synth plugin, I’m 148 revisions into this thing and it’s starting to be extremely inspirational. I seriously can’t wait to share this more with you and hear what you make with it! For now, it’s called Ethereal Soundscapes and the little I can tell you is it blends up to 5 synth engines to create deep complex, soundscapes. It features innovative tools to create movement and “generative” sound design. It’s very easy to use, like 1 minute from initial state to getting lost in the sound and pads like you’ve never heard before!!! It’s perfect for ambient sound design, cinema, worship and meditation and more and you don’t have to be a synth wizard to use it! The next chapter of developing tools for tone is finally here, I’ve been dreaming about it for over a decade, it’s officially the beginning of Ethereal Digital and there’s much more to come!!😎🙌 #digital #studiograde # #toolsfortone #plugin

I’ve got a 11 song record taking its final trip through the wires today! Speaking of wires, several years ago I did extensive testing of inconnect cables in my mastering rig, I built or bought complete sets and tested 7 leading brands (at the time) of cable. Mogami quad, canare quad, Grimm TPR, monster, Belden, Astro (purple) and finally a custom made cable from mastering engineer in Canada @gerhardwestphalen . Though minor, each brand seemed to have its own flavor and transient response. The only two I just didn’t like were monster and Astro (thick purple weirdness) they both just colored the sound way to much for mastering imho. Mogami and canare quad are very close and generally neutral with a very low noise floor, they are affordable in bulk and reject RF best so I have used them primarily for my studio long runs and interconnects beyond 5 feet long. Great cables. The Grimm TPR (I think it was) sounded clearer, maybe a hair less low mids or extra top detail then everything else prior mentioned and became my first full mastering interconnect make over. Then I tried the cables from Gerhard and found those much clearer yet with brutally clean transients. I took the plunge to upgrade the whole rig with his custom interconnects and power cables as well, that was 3-4 years ago. Since then, I tried the belden cable recommended by @terryaudio and found it interesting, with a very organic sound, slightly slower transient but not blurry like the earlier cables I tried with a sound. I now often use one set of those from my DA converters to just smooth things slightly. Now would you hear the differences in your room, depends on how good your room is and if your equipment can resolve the differences. Maybe it’s the final 1% that most don’t hear, but for me the final 1% is often what analog mastering comes down too so it hear for it! 🤓✌️

I’m so geeked out right now!!! Got an AI plugin builder assistant going and I’m officially making my first plugin!!🤯 this is something I’ve been dreaming about this for years! Starting small with a synth idea I’ve had for a while but if it goes well I’ll be making a lot my own plugins… hopefully this is just the beginning! I’ve got lots of analog gear to make digital versions of sitting around!🤓🙌

Sure been enjoying producing an EP with my friend Greg Hooper this winter! Kinda sad there’s only one more song to go. This guys is a genius with synths and the real OG deal, learning a tone from him while we dial in tones with my three new analog synths and plenty of soft synths too! #recording#studio #recording #recordingstudio #producer

Anyone need a great 1/4 TRS patchbay? I’ve got one I’m using and this extra one I just don’t need in my current set up. Low hours, couple small scratches otherwise perfect. $150 shipped USA OBO
