Professional Nerd🤓ULTRA Human✨
NYC born & raised in a library of sorts is where I spend most of my days✨
Here 4 the long run🗽it was better next year🌵✨
New York City adulting mode
this past week created deeper
grounded memories and fed my spirit
in so many necessary ways as it
remains suspended
in desert skies and hugs
my heart with deep exhales
from sand filled lungs
grateful for the Grace of God
and for voice that feels all the
feels and fights the silence of
company more
often than people
can imagine.

grateful for @acentodiario and @lilliamfondeur for your words, presence, and uplifting of my essence
grateful for @dominicanwriters for the spaces created for us to be in community with each other
Absolute gems dropped at Julia Alvarez’s book launch event last week and this portion struck my heart and muse the most.
Leaning into developing that clarity in vision that only old age can develop ✨
Artist’s Note: the glitchy nature of the video’s caption transcription is a snapshot of technology and spirit connecting in a disconnected way…an unintentional intentionally design glitch that lends to the visual asymmetry— symmetry and asymmetry are observer-relative—perspective matters & universe 🌵I see you. ✨

YOUR GIRL is✨✨✨ the 2025 BRIO in Non Fiction Award Winner✨this is one of the most unique recognitions an artist can receive from our very own city & borough!
The writing sample consisted of mostly unpublished work that is part of my current work in progress—this award provided all of my writing with a strong foundation & it will certainly lift my work to make it to its next level of publishing!
I am overwhelmingly grateful for every person in the multiple communities I belong to, be it my career, my running world, my writing world, and my social circles of friends and family!
✨WE GOT THIS ✨
So many moments and people have empowered me to get to this stage as a writer, some captured in this carousel post. I am a bowl full of mush of emotions for earning this award. I received a BRIO for Poetry in 2019 & to now earn it non fiction is an absolute dream come true!
I dedicate this award to my lineage-my daughters- to my elders and family & to my NYC community!
I plan to use its cash prize to host community writing and storytelling sessions so definitely look out for future announcements✨ as always, I plan to pour back into the vessel that is my community ✨
Shout out to @ydc.art for capturing this moment at the celebration and to Mami for being my plus one—I love you so much ✨
Special shout out to the people and spaces that have shaped my voice, my life and ultimately my writing including but not limited to: @bronxartsorg Love Light Farm @offbeattravelexperiences@thenonameprogram@bronxnomads@nybg@monamourcoffeewine@aspiraofnewyork@kenyonreview@mitchsjackson@thespeedproject@racethebronx@emilyraboteau@michelleyvalladares@_davidgroff@utvmx@ccnymfaincw@pints.and.pavements
Bookstores give me so much life…
I am blessed to know many of the writers I see on the bookshelves — of course dozens I know in person and hundreds I know only because of teaching or reading their work.
Finding a book with my work in it makes my heart skip—
it shows me a glimpse of what I expect will continuously widen my face with the biggest of smiles:
seeing my standalone book on a shelf.
I am so grateful for voice, for words, and for the opportunity to write.
Books certainly saved me.
Writing is my heart’s mission.
My girls have entered womanhood and the yellow light towards publishing my book will soon turn green.
