These photographs come from a tension, wanting to be purposeful but also drifting in the weight of the everyday.
Seeing people in my community do what they love gives me permission to do the same. They inspire me, and it’s reflected back through these photographs.
In the homes, portraits, and objects I photograph, both dread and beauty exist side by side. A pair of boots, a family portrait, a teddy bear, these fragments become portraits, and through them I search for my own permission to exist.
