The @safeandsound.tpe team is so incredibly impressive — we were stoked from the start. The concept, the design, and the level of execution this team achieved were truly admirable. They welcomed us with open arms — concept cocktails and warm handshakes ready for the crew. We also had the pleasure of meeting our fellow Spring Frequency international guests, Kirby Anderson and the Tempo Contato crew, and we can’t wait to see them again. The night was a wonderful journey that made us proud to, in a small way, represent Chicago and the amazing artists we get to call friends. From opening the set with a friend’s new release to closing it with our favorite Chicago anthem from a couple of hometown heroes, we were stoked to share a slice of this incredible city. Kero and the team are onto something special, and we can’t wait to go back and support them with what’s next!

Excited to announce the sounds for The Chai Break. 💿 Shami Sosa (@gaspergomez ) is a first-generation Pakistani-American multimedia designer, music producer, and DJ based in Chicago whose work spans Classical South Asian music, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Electronica. He founded Parallel Play, a listening room and learning center in Humboldt Park, and leads Synth On My Sleeve, a platform connecting synthesizer culture with luxury streetwear. An Emmy Award-winning producer, his credits include television segments for CBS and VICE. A foundational figure in Chicago’s independent music scene. Synchronized Swimming (@swimsynchronized ) is a Chicago-based DJ duo made up of Drishay Menon, born in Jakarta with South Asian roots, and Glenn Coco, raised in the Florida Keys. Their sets pull from house, deep house, disco, nu-disco, jazz, and funk, drawing on two distinct island upbringings and a shared home in the birthplace of house music. They have taken that sound to India, London, Taipei, Jakarta, and beyond, building a following around music that is as culturally layered as the people who make it.
