Mimi’s Potato Pave. These little bad boys take a while to make. The first time I made them they completely fell apart on me. They’re sturdy now.
I think they’re worth it though. I fry them to order, season them with herbs, salt, and fresh chives. You can pretty much dip them in anything. I had them for breakfast the other day. (Pictured)
Also shoutout my guy JP. He makes his own version for his fam around the holidays. (Not pictured)
Cafe will be open tomorrow.
11am - 4pm
Sandwiches, coffee, beer, wine
THE CAFE IS FOR LOVERS
‘C’était un Rendez-vous’ is a 1976 short film directed by Claude Lelouch, filmed in one continuous take through the streets of Paris at sunrise.
The film follows an unseen driver racing across the city to meet a woman waiting at the destination. Lelouch later explained the idea simply: a man willing to take unnecessary risks because he does not want to make his date wait.
For years, people believed the film featured a Ferrari driven by a professional racing driver. In reality, Lelouch himself drove a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL through real traffic, real pedestrians, and 18 actual red lights with no permits, no road closures, and no special effects.
The Ferrari engine sounds were later dubbed in using recordings from Lelouch’s own Ferrari 275 GTB.
The title translates to “It Was a Date,” with the final shot revealing Lelouch’s real-life girlfriend waiting at the end of the drive across Paris.

#SPORTSTALK
I met Melissa one random Sunday afternoon at Drip. Our friend and neighbor Ty introduced us. A couple days later, she invited me to visit her at her residency in the Don C space.
We spoke for three hours. Life, struggles, interests. Sports, music, what inspires us. All while she made me a cup of coffee. It felt like being at your favorite auntie’s house. (she’ll tell you this too)
I flipped through her sketchbook as she walked me through her work, past and current projects. She also has a studio. It’s filled with old magazines, collected objects, and pieces she’s put into the world.
Coffee is her medium. I realized the cafe is mine. When I spoke about my approach, I mentioned I usually have Terence Crawford highlights playing in the background. Boxing, sports, even the culinary world. To be great, there’s a discipline behind it. It’s repetition. Practice, then more practice.
“The Show” is an intersection of the game. Sports, memorabilia, music, and food. It’s HOOP DREAMS. IT’S “I’M THE BEST EVER. I’M THE MOST BRUTAL AND VICIOUS AND MOST RUTHLESS CHAMPION THERE’S EVER BEEN… PRAISE BE TO ALLAH.”
As an ode to that, we’ll have 25 limited bookmarks. The design is a homage to the ticket stub, drawing from its afterlife as something kept, collected, and reassembled. Free with the first 25 orders of our special edition Espresso Tonic.
We can’t wait. See you tomorrow.
