Antes de Irme ✨
Before my dad moves back to LA and before I leave for Mexico City, we wanted to share one last table together in Portland — filled with the dishes we love most, the flavors I grew up with, cocktails, dessert, stories, and the people who have supported us along the way.
On Sunday, July 26th, we’ll be cooking together one last time for a special five-course dinner inspired by family and the places that shaped us.
Where: @magnapdx
Two seatings: 5PM & 7PM
$95 per person
It would mean so much to both of us to fill the room with familiar faces, good conversation, and people we love. We really hope you’ll come share this night with us. 🤍
DM me to reserve your seat.
beautiful footage from last year’s el otro lado @bartotiatx in austin, texas with some of the best in the industry 🌞
one week out from this year’s dinner and we’re officially sold out at 50 seats. truly blown away by the support from our community — old, new, and still to be met.
¡vamos!
There’s something about Mexico City that heals me every time…
como si la ciudad me abrazara y no me quisiera soltar.
La comida, la gente, la energía—todo lleno de amor, tan puro y tan real.
I felt it in every moment, every smile, every late night.
Siempre. 🤍
El Otro Lado, cuatro año❤️🔥
what started as an intimate gathering has grown into something much deeper than a dinner. each year, this night becomes a reflection of community, culture, and the people who shape it & this one feels the most special yet.
El Otro Lado was created to reclaim Cinco de Mayo, to shift it away from commercialization and back toward something rooted in culture, memory, and intention. each year, we gather around the table to honor that spirit through food and shared experience.
a guiding thread of the evening: each chef draws inspiration from the region of Puebla, exploring its ingredients and traditions across the menu.
we’re stoked to host our fourth iteration in San Francisco’s Mission District with:
Chef Isai of @donajisanfrancisco
Gabriella of @sweetcreaturepdx and @librepdx
A special cocktail program by @jesusverde of @thehaciendaatx , @barmauromx
we’re also proud to welcome @alan_chazaro . Alan wrote about our very first El Otro Lado in 2023 & now in 2026 joins us from Mexico as our featured artist, bringing seven poems to be exhibited throughout the evening.
tablescape design by @tangerinepropshop one of our favorite collaborators, we can’t wait to share what we’re dreaming up.
a portion of proceeds will support Friendship House of San Francisco, uplifting Indigenous healing and recovery programs in San Francisco.
a welcome drink, multi-course pairings, and a few fun surprises to be announced soon.
May 5th @donajisanfrancisco 6:30–10PM
Tickets go live tomorrow, April 10th
Grateful for this community, more soon👏🏽
Three years ago, I had a dream that felt bigger than me — to create something sweet, something safe, something that brought people together. This tiny dessert and mezcal bar became that and so much more.
It became late-night conversations, first dates, celebrations, heartbreak healing, laughter over shared bites, and quiet moments alone with something comforting on a hard day. It became a space where everyone was welcome, exactly as they are. And getting to create desserts for you — to be a small part of your memories — has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
This weekend, this chapter will be closing. And while it’s incredibly emotional, it’s also full of gratitude. Gratitude for every single person who walked through the doors, supported, shared, believed, and made this place what it was.
To my community — you gave this dream life. You made it matter.
If there’s one thing I hope you carry forward, it’s this: support your local businesses. Behind every small space is someone pouring their heart, their time, their everything into it. It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it.
And as for me… this isn’t the end. There are beautiful things ahead, things I can’t quite share yet — but I promise, they’re coming from the same place of love and intention that built this.
Thank you for every moment. Every bite. Every memory.
With all my love
Gabriella 🖤
last week we flew to ATX for a few days to spend time with some of our favorite people 👏🏽
this trip was such a beautiful reminder to show up for your people, especially when times are tough. we ate @esteatx to visit @chefalekuri and enjoy a meal with @melo.fragrance 🌞
we even stopped by @jesusverde ‘s new bar @thehaciendaatx which is one of the most amazing bars we’ve been to!
community truly is everything & we’re incredibly grateful for ours 🪩
It’s hard to find the right words for this. 🥹
Libre was never just a bar to us.
It was late nights, loud laughs, quiet conversations, and so many beautiful, unexpected moments in between.
With heavy hearts, we’re sharing that Libre will be closing. Our last day of service will be Saturday, April 4th. We’ll be open our normal hours Tuesday–Saturday this week.
If Libre has ever meant something to you, we’d love to see you one more time to share a drink, a hug, and a memory.
Thank you for every night you chose to spend with us.
For every glass raised, every conversation, every bit of love you gave this space.
This isn’t just goodbye.
It’s a celebration of everything we built together.
With love,
Libre 🖤
