[US PATRON PERFECTIONIST 2024] - it still feels surreal…The level that was brought to this competition was so high that it was impossible to feel confident. Thank you judges for believing in me, in my concept, and in my art @damesanders @pour_the_oil and Maestro David Rodriguez @patron There was SO MUCH work behind this drinks and this competition. So much R&D, so much trial and error, so much frustrations, pressure, and training! - I’m very thankful to all my bar team @hntaustin who supported me and cheer me up before, during and after! - best team ever!- Special thanks to @conororeilly89 @asanidiotis and @wilsonj08 , thank you SO MUCH for all the help and for bearing with me!!. Thank you to all the participants - I’m taking all the best practices that I learned from all of you! - it was great meeting so many talented bartenders from different parts of the country - can’t wait to visit you at your bars or host you again here in Austin!. Thank you @academia_patron @tales_of_the_cocktail for putting together this competition and for all that you do for this industry!. Thank you @grenzwithbenefitz @roberto.nunez.moreno for all of your support before and during the competition. Thank you @mixecutive @katie.spaghettti and all the Patron team who helped organize this magnificent event in our beautiful city. [PATRON PERFECTIONIST - CHALLENGE 2] - PATRON X SELLER’S MARKET - for this challenge we were given a certain budget and time to go to a market in Guadalajara to pick at least 2 ingredients and create 4 servings of a cocktail, to be presented tableside to @tomsstory @juliopapadoble @morko.koral @waynere - this challenge pushed us to think on our feet and our ability to plan and choose the best way to extract flavors in a certain amount of time that we had for prepping before the challenge. For this challenge I not only picked 2 ingredients from the market but actually all my ingredients (excluding the tequila) were from the market: Ajenjo, Pericon, Mamey, Tamarind, agave, salt. Yielding the name of my cocktail called ā€œTIANGUISā€ which translates to market in Nahuatl. The garnish, was an edible candy made out of the remaining of the tamarind after I extracted the flavors that I needed, mixed with the leftover of mamey, and a little bit of sugar. The presentation of this candy was inspired on a pulparindo which I saw also in the market on that day!. What an honor was to make you judges this drink and to present in front of you.
