Last Thursday, this place was filled with “Sonoma Sophisticate” attired people. Haven’t been in a vibe like this since I lived in Chicago and New York City! Who knew?!!!! We would have been happy to start and finish off with these mouth watering Hamachi Crudo (kohirabi, sorrel, serrano chili) and Duck Liver Mousse (grilled baguette, pickled mustard seeds, cacao nibs) but we still had Pan Seared Day Boat Scallops and the Wood Fired Demkota Prime New York Steak coming! I’m not complaining. A little surf and turf action to share on a Monday night, ain’t too bad, right @sweenkat ?

Bottega Napa Valley
Katie and I had our (now!) annual holiday lunch, this year at Bottega Restaurant in Yountville. Everything that came out of the kitchen was superb! Every which way you look, it’s quite impressive. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly! I highly recommend this place as a must eat when in Napa Valley!

Our writer Katie Sweeney and I attended the Paul Hobbs Inaugural Harvest Celebration at the Katherine Lindsay Estate commemorating two decades of extraordinary releases from their estate. It was a progressive stroll, sip and savor type of tasting and they offered a rare opportunity to experience the artistry and legacy of Paul Hobbs wines. We were also able to see the lovely one of a kind art pieces (from ceramics to paintings) made by his lovely wife Cristina all over the spectacular property which were available as well for purchase. We started off with a sparkling 2021 Blanc de Noirs & caviar, followed by curated stations of chardonnay, pinot noir, and cabernet sauvignon, including the estate’s first 100-point wine!The highlight for us is tasting the exclusive large-format pour of 2015 Nathan Coombs Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2022 Cabernet Franc, both from our Coombsville AVA! At this event, they even had an onsite engraver offering complientary custom engraving for the first bottle purchased! Classy!

They also make exceptional appliances!
This evening, we mingled with the Hestan team, from Pamela Stafford (President, CEO, and Co-Founder of Hestan Culinary) to Stanley Cheng (founder and CEO of the parent company, Meyer Corporation, which launched the Hestan brand.
We also enjoyed a first taste of the culinary experience from Michelin-starred Chef Mark Dommen and tasted exceptional wines from Hestan Vineyards.
(Hestan Vineyards is owned by Stanley and Helen Cheng; their vineyard and name of the brand was created by cleverly combining the first few letters in each of their first names).
