Very fun to play with such a good headline (and such a balanced name like Sean Penn — 4 letters and 4 letters?!) Felt like I could not figure this one out but got there eventually…part of the process 🤌

She’s previously worked at Self, Esquire, Marie Claire and is currently the Art Director at New York Magazine. She has been recognized by the American Society for Magazine Editors and The One Club for Creativity, and Society of Publication Designers. By @paula_aceves to accompany the cover story by @reeveswiedeman And this one was a full family affair — it took the entire art dept to get this one from nothing to something in four days 😅 @ash_smestad & Randy Minor & @gabypesqueira (who stayed with me to the wee hours!)— the dream team 💪 photos by the resilient @moncketeer & @maurafriedman + our amazing production director Sarah Hughes taught me everything there is to ever know about stylesheets!! This family tree is one running text box of stylesheets and grep styles and should be in a museum. thank you thank you thank you @spdesigners for giving me the opportunity to throw the SPD60 Awards Party ❤️ I am so grateful to be in this industry full of the most creative people on the planet. @wanyizee took me to my first SPD in 2018 and it created a dream for me to be nominated someday alongside my peers. I never thought I’d be here on the Board of Directors, let alone planning our 60th anniversary for this organization that is so dear to me! I am so grateful ❤️ Ok sorry this is cheesy but gimme a break — Keisha Dean thank you for giving me the reigns and saying YES to everything, elevating me and being the BACKBONE of SPD! Tom and Anton, our 60th Anniversary Co-Chairs (and my former and current boss!) for going along with every grand idea! And agreeing to stay up all night making a broadsheet newspaper on top of shipping our magazines! The entire @nymag staff who I forced to help me carry alcohol bottles, make signage, pick up props, scan annuals, email artists, and LISTEN to me GAB nonstop for months. I can SHUTUP NOW!! @casamagazinesnyc @happydavid the most amazing haven, and the hardest working team in New York City, for helping me bring this newsstand installation from idea to reality. Ayan at Casa (and help from @frankie626 ) picked out every. single. magazine. by hand for this newsstand. The entire SPD Board for your help and support! Emil and @chuckkerr for nearly losing a limb trying to get the newsstand into the @georgiaroomnyc . Chuck for answering my phone calls whenever I wanted MORE for this gala!! My civilian friends* 🤪 (*non designers) who bought tickets on their own dime just to support me 🥹 the greatest friends in the world. @ljhilgart @markalanburger @morgan.mcmullen @kurtbooger @larisakline Kurt who spent a weekend making the Casa Magazines sign with me in my living room. Larisa for taking two days off of work to be my best friend and assistant through this whole event. My heart and soul my husband Cole ❤️ he listened, he carried boxes, he stayed up with me planning this every night for months, he made me food when I worked late, and never complained.
