One post was not enough for Mama Yohana. Because every day should be Mother's Day, here she is again. 💛🤱 🌼
Mama Yohana is a mother, a volunteer and a community mobiliser who has spent five years showing up for the families in her village in Rote. She counsels around 40 mothers and children every month, makes home visits every two weeks, and fits health conversations into every corner of her day. 🍼🩺🤰
"This is my responsibility, both as a volunteer and as a neighbour." We think that says it all. 🌱👶

Some mothers go above and beyond for their own children. Mama Yohana does it for an entire village. A mother herself, she spends her days making sure other mothers in her community have the knowledge and support they need to give their children the best start in life. This Mother's Day, we're celebrating the women in our communities across Indonesia who give their time, their knowledge and their heart so that other mothers and children can thrive. 🤱

Today, we want to introduce you to three women whose work changes and saves lives every single day.
Meet Rini, Yani, and Niat. 💙
Rini has spent over 10 years as one of the only midwives in remote West Sumba, managing the full arc of maternal care for entire villages. Yani works six days a week in the Mentawai Islands and then keeps going, supporting more than 30 families long after her shift ends, mostly as a volunteer. And Niat never planned to be a midwife at all, until something pulled her through the door of the first midwifery academy on the island of Nias and she never looked back. 🙏
"I am determined to see all the existing services on Sumba work together, so that women and their children get the best possible healthcare." - Rini
These three women carry extraordinary responsibility, often alone, in communities the wider health system rarely reaches.

🔦 @aquabumps - nobody knows Bondi like team Aquabumps, who are a hot favourite thanks to their innate local knowledge. You'll see them down at Bondi in the morning getting their reps in as we get closer to cup day! Our 2025 Humanitarians of the Year, Eugene and the team were instrumental in getting a Cup over at Bondi in 2016 and they've been contenders ever since! 📷
